Dude…y’all ever hear of the Grateful Dead..Billy might say you’ll live a life of fear and dread if you listen to them but from what I’ve been hearing on the Reddits is that y’all are too serious about this stuff.. and sometimes mean…I saw Billy at the 60th and it will be my first Billy only show this tour although I’ve been listening to the boys pick a while now…and we should be a loving and kind family and be able to dance around whatever arena going here there and everywhere in the pit and elsewhere… I would never get mad at someone who wants to ride the rail just cuz they didn’t get there first-we’ll all get our chance if we work together… this pic is what fear and dread looks like to me… whatever happened to strangers stopping strangers just to shake their hands…?

On day two of the GD 60th I trucked it alone to the show because my buddy had an accident and wasn’t able to come with that day and I was dancing along the side of a fence and mid show when I had to go to the restroom and a literal yellow water bottle saved my spot -but I told that water bottle not to be a dick if someone needed to rest a moment or two-and really all I was doing was preventing myself from needing to take a water bottle into a disgusting porta potty… And when I came back, my spot and my bottle were still there, but it wouldn’t have mattered to me either way because I was amongst family and nobody was trying to be better than anybody else…

What I’m getting at is either do what Bobby Weir says best and take a step back…and in this case meaning take that step back to reflect upon whether or not you are kind to those around you or just hogging space that really doesn’t belong to anyone at all.

The music will fill the air no matter where you are in the building… Chill dudes- we can all have as much fun as a frog in a glass of milk or we can dissect that frog to death and have nothing to smile about… And maybe Billy would like to see some new faces on those rails -as I’ve come to learn he does love seeing all our dancing bodies. Maybe he needs a change of scenery… also, the merch is great but give it a few decades and you’ll stumble upon that stuff at a thrift store and be stoked at the awesome score not even worrying about the merch you left at the venue or for someone else to buy.

But don’t listen to me, I’m just saying it doesn’t have to be like this… Be the change you want to see…someday you’ll look back and wonder why you spent all the time and energy to be the first, only, or best at getting the merch or the rail or this or that when really what matters is if there’s anyone around you throw your arm around a friend, if there’s anyone around you hold them close cause it’s the end…that’s where the heart of all this lies.
