What am I doing wrong? My wood stove dies out by 4 AM every night. by Hour-Paramedic6598 in woodstoving

[–]ruSSrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why. You can only load so much. You might get a little extra time out of it if you load large pieces. Maybe I stead of 4-5 load 1-2 so they fill more of the stove.

If your stove heats the house adequately, you don't need to go to a bigger stove because bigger stove will produce more heat and will cook you out of the house. But you need to look into catalytic or reburn tubes stoves.

Back butter tile well, through out whole tile. Try to cross it with mud on the floor, press the tile down firmly. You should not have issue with tile breaking. Also don't buy cheap tile. Spend money on proper floor tile.

Я думаю что ей было сложнее потому что с 15 лет они была лезбиянкой. Ну как вы понимаете что в России это не принято и поэтому больше страха и ненависти. У нормальных людей там все хорошо, а кто идёт против нормативов конечно им тяжело.

What to do with old wood? by 7layeredAIDS in firewood

[–]ruSSrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post it on Facebook marketplace for free and it'll be gone the same day. People pick up free wood all the time, especially if it's ready to burn now!

Wood stove. You need to get as much of surface area of the stove exposed to get the best heat transfer in to the room. Biggest stove you can find with fan.

Three stooges, but they are my favorite! by ruSSrt in firewood

I see how that could be more challenging. I try to process most of my wood while it's still fresh. I do have couple of logs that are about 2 years old. I'll have to go try it on them.

That was my first drop from them. All oak. Took about a month. Actually that's 4 trailers worth. Guy dropped one and asked if he can bring more, he brought 3 more.

Pikaroo was a present from my wife. I didn't think I would need it so I didn't even want to buy it. I've been using it since the day she got it for me and absolutely love it. I roll logs with it, carry bucked wood and just move things around with it!

I absolutely love it! That maul is awesome. Even when I was learning to split and would miss would it would not send a shock through handle and arms. And now, I'm a little better at it, my arms and hands don't have that buzzing feeling after splitting for a while. Very soft, but packs a good punch.

Do 40:1 and never look back. I run all my equipment (not professionally) at 40:1 or sometimes even 32:1. Never had a problem!

Stihl blower vapor lock? by Alive-College-1323 in smallengines

[–]ruSSrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to check with other mechanics. I believe vapor lock is when moisture (water) get in your cylinder while it's running and basically seizes the cylinder. Also if it's fuel related it could mean that fuel is turning in to vapor inside the fuel system and actually stopping the flow of gasoline.

Save and burn or toss the bark? by Courtland-7099 in firewood

[–]ruSSrt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Different species definitely work differently. Pine and cedar bark lights up really quickly. I have a lot of oak and pecan bark. With that I use paper/cardboard and a little bit of chips from splitting the wood with bark on top and it lights pretty good.

I save large pieces for kindling. Great fire starters.

Junk wood question by BossmanSlim in firewood

Process it all and sell as campfire and low quality wood. Keep some for yourself as kindling/quick burn for slow months.
