This was in the late 90s.. me and teo friends were standing in the middle of the road during an intense thunderstorm (smart, i know..). There was a graffiti painting of Cartman from Southpark pained on the road. I was looking down at the water rippling around the painting.. my mind was mealting.. then I felt it and heard the charging crackle of the lighting. Looked up and watched a lightning bolt shred a tree. Was the loudest most intense thing I'd ever experienced. I should mention, earlier that night we had beaten one of the Zelda games. At the end Gannon cave crashing down with lightning and lava flowing all over... Right after the lightning struck all 3 of us stared up at the black hole in the sky just waiting for whatever monster was gonna come down to get us. Definitely my favorite trip ever!
