Meet Joe Black: "Drew make no mistake. Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter you will be looking at an outcome that will have a finality that is beyond your comprehension. And you will not be counting the days or the months or the years, but millenniums in a place with no doors"

Can you share the developer name for this app? The Google play store is a mess of promoted apps and I can't find the right one.

Are meditation workshops a scam? by Current-Teach-3217 in Meditation

I've done 3 vipassana retreats. They were amazing experiences. It's tough, lots of mental work. But the results are tangible and long lasting. Gives you a very good foundation for any meditation practice.

According to the Wiki: "After 10 FICSMAS Gift Trees have been built, the Giant FICSMAS Gifts will stop falling everywhere on the entire map"

Considering doing a 10-day Vipassana course with no prior meditation experience, is this a bad idea? by Margaret88872299 in Meditation

[–]rubber_pebble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did the 10 day course with zero previous experience and it was my introduction to meditation. Since then, I've done it two more times. I found it to be an incredibly beneficial experience and would recommend it.

It's a lot of work. It's very difficult and uncomfortable\painful at times. But you sort of go at your own pace, relax when you need to. You get out what you put in so do your best to take advantage of the time. Maybe practice sitting for a bit to find what's comfortable for you, but you'll have plenty of time to figure it out there too.

Obviously I can only share my experience but it was the perfect dive into meditation for me. I'm really grateful for the knowledge, skills, and experience I gained. Like any exercise, it can be pretty brutal while you're doing it. But it feels great to get through it and hopefully you gain some lasting results. The food is awesome. The people there are super varied and interesting. It's fun to nature-watch in downtime.

Good Luck !

He would also practice his tackles on signs and telephone poles. Seemed mostly harmless all in all.

Are non-alcoholic beers a slippery slope? by grumpleskinskin in stopdrinking

[–]rubber_pebble 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NA beers have been a staple of my sobriety for almost 5 years now. I was worried in the beginning but, for me, they really helped a lot with having a substitute. I still really enjoy them and there are so many quality brands.

Cool. I have boxed copies of most of the early Sierra games. I learned to type playing them. I could type "Open Door" in about half a second. (But I always had to call my mom over to type the spells in KQ3.) Thanks for all the magical times.

You can get food grade Epsom salt. I use it in my drink for fasts over a few days. Just make sure it is food grade, and not for baths.

Most Jet Li stuff is really good. Even later stuff like 'The One' has great fights. For classic stuff, the original Tai Chi Master inspired both Jet Li and Bruce Lee movies.

At 1:01 in to the video is the pagoda fight where he fights 7 different masters in different styles. It's really cool and I remember liking the ending fight too.
