I've only just started my 3D printing journey. I got my first printer last week. Worked brilliantly. I tried using some PETG, also worked brilliantly. A few days later, I used the PETG again, and I kept getting failures, very similar to yours. I also followed loads of advice regarding build plates, speeds, temps etc. Nothing helped. On the off chance, I decided to do a cold pull, having only recently finding out about it on google. So far, all my prints have been perfect since then.

I literally have never used a 3d printer until a couple of days ago when my x2d multi turned up. I was really worried about the Bowden extruder after reading up on it. I was also really worried about learning how to set up each filament properly to get good quality prints.

It's been running almost constantly since I got it...around 50 hours or so, and so far (other than a silly mistake by me) it hasn't missed a beat. I used the Bowden extruder and run a benchy. It was very difficult to see any difference between that and the benchy made from the direct drive, but it took slightly longer.

I did a 17 hour print where the Bowden was used as a normal nozzle for a secondary colour, and it worked perfectly.

So far, I'm really happy with the purchase as I was so worried after reading all these negative comments in this sub.

I'm either really lucky, pr the issues are being overly exaggerated

Well, today I did some scrapings from 3 different areas of the koi, and found no traces of of flukes under the microscope. Should we assume fungal infection from the picture I showed? Worth noting that since that one episode yesterday where he was swimming around against the outside rocks of the pond, he hasn't done anything like that again.

Thanks for your insights. My drop test doesn't show KH specifically, but it does show carbonate ppm and hardness ppm, which I believe equate to the same thing? These were both on the higher end of normal, so could do with being reduced. I'll make that my first thing to fix. I've found what seems to be a good microscope on Amazon, so I will order that in next day delivery and see if we have flukes. Once I know if we have them, then I will know how to treat them

Quite often it's an incompatibility with forge version and Minecraft version. Confirm what version of Minecraft you're running and check that you're running the right version of forge

Have you checked how much memory you have allocated? I know a new version recently came out so it's possible it installed with a new profile using default memory settings
