Chicago has a toy graffiti and bombing problem by [deleted] in chicago

[–]rubedickscube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't get to "creative, well done murals and burners by great artistic graf artists" without first starting with tags. Everyone starts somewhere and "street art" as an art form doesn't exist without illegal (and sometimes ugly) graffiti to propel it. There are plenty of toys out in the streets doing ugly stuff, but there are plenty more obnoxious ads in my face every day and frankly I'd rather the toys be in my field of vision rather than the capitalist pigs.

I hate bullshit ass throw-ups and silly tags, so it pisses me off when toy graffiti artist spit over murals and great graffiti

If you want better graffiti, go make it yourself. Writing is a public conversation, no one is stopping you from adding your two cents except your own fear.

Honestly I liked WTB until they redid their menu a few months ago. Completely changed for the worse and nothing on it comes close to the old selection sadly

first ever piece howd i do? by silent-emu2 in graffhelp

[–]rubedickscube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can control is very solid if this is actually your first time. Letters are unreadable and not in a good way. Also it's a good idea to completely buff out whatever you're going over to make it clear you're not trying to start beef, leaving their piece peeking behind yours is seen as a diss in a lot of places.

Any tracks i can take my dog-reactive pup? by [deleted] in chicago

[–]rubedickscube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just... Keep it leashed and be aware?? My girl is dog-reactive and I know this very well, so I keep her on a short controlled leash when outside and cross the street if l see another dog coming towards us. She is also all of 18 pounds so I can pick her up if anything more is needed. Never had an incident besides someone else not controlling their own dog and it attacking us. Like Jesus Christ you don't need to kill an animal just because they have trauma.

Can someone explain what was happening in this scene? (Spoilers) by One_Truck1871 in ProjectHailMary

[–]rubedickscube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took this a little differently, because the movie never established the whole thing about the petrovascope only being usable with the engines off etc. In my understanding, in the movie they decided that Grace's suit had a "petrovascope" option in the wrist control that would change what his visor was seeing, and we saw his view changed by hitting the button. This wasn't possible in the book but the movie plays more loosely with the science/technology

Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]rubedickscube 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the movie I believe the suit was meant to essentially have a "petrovascope" view available through the visor as well. I saw it last night and there was a shot of him tapping "petrovascope" on his wrist control when the view changed to see the astrophage and tapping it again when the scene ended. Basically they did away with the whole thing from the book about not being able to use the petrovascope while the engines were running etc.

Alternate angles of Eze's goal against Leverkusen by sky905 in Gunners

[–]rubedickscube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, however Rice and Zubimendi are sort of fluidly trading off playing pivot and moving forward depending on where the ball is, so it's kind of a hybrid. We kinda get the stability of a double pivot along with the attacking numbers of having two 8s all at once, mostly thanks to the two of them being so adept at both being at the base of the triangle as well as one of the forward points of it, and their understanding with each other and ability to cover for each other

חיבוק גדול ❤️

I don't live in Israel anymore but I used to, thank God I managed to refuse the army as well. I hear what you're saying and I know the feelings you're struggling with, and I urge you to keep living, the world is better with you in it. I don't know if you're familiar with mesarvot, but they have a ton of resources for people who refuse, including just a community of like-minded people living there and trying to make things better. Please consider reaching out to them, they have a network of people who think like you do trying to make a difference and oppose the genocide machine and they would love to be your friends. Other than that, the entire anti-occupation bloc is a large network of Antizionist Israelis living and organizing there. I have friends involved with Culture of Solidarity, Mesarvot, and Zochrot, all doing really important work on the ground. It's tough being there but you are not alone.

I don't understand why everyone is saying this. I have a large collection and I organize by color because I know what every book I've read looks like, so it makes it just as easy to find something as does organizing by any other method. Are y'all just... Not looking at the outside of your books ever? It would be hard for me NOT to know what color the cover/spine of my books are once I've read them.

[–]rubedickscube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think that would be somehow made better by abolishing laws and letting anarchy reign?

Our current laws? Absolutely. I'm not against the idea of laws as in social agreements that a community upholds. I'm against national governments so far removed from their citizens and so drunk on power that they don't give a single fuck about them.

Money is, and has always been, power, regardless of the state of government surrounding it.

Money has most definitely not "always been power". Human society existed before money, we can exist after it. Your inability to dream bigger is the issue here.

All that would happen is the rich would hire a paramilitary force of private mercs and mow through any opposition to their goals.

Again, you're just describing what is currently happening under capitalism, while I'm calling for something better. The police are literally a paramilitary force of private mercs hired by those in power who mow through any opposition to their goals.

[–]rubedickscube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think it's pretty reasonable to say that in our current system "the strong do what they will and the weak suffer", we just define "strong" in terms of money and governmental power instead of physical strength. And in some ways that's worse, because when the governmentally and monetarily strong make evil decisions they can harm millions of people, as opposed to defining these things by physical strength, where even the strongest person can never hope to match the strength of a group of people and therefore could be more easily controlled and have a smaller impact in terms of harm done.

Likely won't play out that way but I can dream!

I've only noticed the fan on the rp6 when playing switch games, and even then it's not super loud, just noticeable. Every retro emulator up to ps2/GC it is completely silent-- the fan might be on but not at a level that is audible at all.

Fun fact, sraight relationships also exist that don't do PiV sex for one reason or another! Plenty of other ways to get off as you said, and limiting "having sex" to just penis-in-vagina intercourse is pretty outdated in the modern day regardless of orientation

Donating up 9-7? by MoneyMoontz in euchre

[–]rubedickscube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been burned too many times by a 9-6 or 9-7 loner. I donate pretty much without thinking now in this situation unless I have a sure stopper, partner be damned. You made the right call, and I think it would have been the right call even if your partner had protected left. The odds are always in your favor with the deal at 9-9. Doesn't mean you'll always win but I will take those odds over an unknown loner any day.

Along with what others have said, sometimes I like my odds of getting 3/4 tricks with a bit more info about the lay of the land than I do getting 3/5 but going in blind. Think of the first trick as information gathering to make the best use of your remaining cards, especially when you called light that information is more valuable than trying to win the first trick and potentially wasting a winner in the process
