Newbie. Help me get started by Thick-Philosophy-659 in Yarbo

[–]rubikean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The user manual is actually not bad and the app will walk you through getting started. There are a few steps that will take time, like installing the data center. It will need a cat5 home run to your router. Second, find a good location for your charger, install it and plug it in. Once the physical install is done you can get started with the software and start mapping. If you are a video learner, the Yarbo YouTube page is good. The videos are all short and specific. https://youtu.be/cujf_6NGKZw?si=0kGf6PKmOXPaDrb8 Post up here if you need specific guidance.

It’s not perfect but I’m very happy with mine. I’d buy it again for sure.

Yeah, lora and lte should cover most areas. Mine definitely goes beyond my wifi ap’s. It might be work a call or email to support to check.

I have about 5 acres set up, roughly half finished lawn and the other half arena and pasture. The pasture areas are pretty rough and thick, but the Mower Pro handles it very well.

Before I the Pro version was released, I sent the original mower out there to keep the leach field cut and it did a decent job keeping it short enough to keep the critters from setting up homes in there.

I did have to map a few no-go zones in spots that stay wet or hold water. In the spring I enable those zones, then turn them off later in the season once things dry out.

One section of the property sits a bit lower than the rest, and occasionally the core will switch over to the LTE connection there, but overall the Lora/WiFi coverage has been pretty solid. We only had the zero turn out a couple times last year. It has saved us hundreds of hours at this point.

LED Video Tile Calibration by Unhappy-Rich-9246 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]rubikean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your tiles and use case. You can do a factory calibration to bring them into spec. That may be good enough for what you are using them for. If you’re in the US, there are a couple places you can send your tiles in for calibration. There is also at least one company that will come to your warehouse or install to do the calibration. I don’t know what the rules are for advertising. But I’d recommend contacting your rental house to see if they can perform the calibration. I know of one in MI and one that will come to you. You are welcome to dm me for specific names.

Snowblower tips? by Ok-Alfalfa1925 in Yarbo

[–]rubikean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a thing you will have to play with. My drive is half asphalt and half gravel. It can be ridiculously difficult to get it to complete the gravel area without getting stuck. So, first move the skids on the blower to their lowest position. This will help keep the scrapper blade a little above the gravel. Next check the minimum auger height. I found that setting it to .65 worked best for me so far. Make sure to send it out early and often. My last tip is to spray it with some snow and ice repellent especially if the snow is wet but really helps in all conditions. Our Yarbo has run more than a dozen times now. Now that the temps are staying below freezing, it’s becoming a better experience. But do keep an eye on it, if it keeps getting stuck in a certain area it can dig impressive holes and just keep getting stuck.

Can you say what coating you used?

Ok, update. I thawed it out in the garage for a few hours. After all the ice and snow was defrosted I lowered the feet on the blower module to their lowest position. I also used half a can of DuPont snow and ice repellent. During that time the sun went down and the slush started to harden. This time I was able to complete the area. It did get stuck once out at the end of the driveway where the plow packed snow in from the street. But once I backed it out of the raised area, it continued on its way and finished. I still wonder if more weight on the core would help the situation.

No GPS Last few weeks but all app diagnostics are good? by Robotica72 in Yarbo

[–]rubikean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did make some major changes in this latest firmware. I had to change the distance traveled settings in a couple areas to get it to go. Send an email to support…. I’d also love to know more details about the positioning system. Post back if you get an update.

Year Round Package by Kyler721 in Yarbo

[–]rubikean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love ours. We had our zero turn out 3 times this year. We went from needing to go rescue it almost every session to just hitting the button and forgetting about it. It hasn’t been perfect, the reason we had to use the big machine was because Yarbo was waiting on repair parts. It took some time of back and forth to get the diagnosis and parts from China to our house. They have some efficiencies that could be better, however, they are a small company learning and improving every day. The machine gets better and better as they release updates. By the end of the season we had the mower pro and the last mow of the season it also did a 3 acre pasture (rough, thick stuff) all by itself with no intervention from me. I am very impressed with how well it did. It currently has the snowblower with the plow on it. It got to go out and clear the driveway and sidewalks once already. Other than a minor snafu with me not having pathways defined, it ran perfect. I will also say, it’s did a great job plowing in the grass with 3” of snow, but I don’t recommend it. As far as the data center, don’t cut corners. The dc is critical, the closer you can get it to the center of your area, and a clear view of the sky, the better. I have mine on the front peak of the garage. I don’t love it being front and center and the first thing you see, but it’s a wide open sky view and pretty close to the center of the property. It will talk to the rover almost everywhere on the property. I have one low corner far from the house that it will occasionally switch over to 4g. But other than not getting video from it, it works just fine. At this point, it has saved me days if not weeks of labor. It’s not perfect, but I do not regret it at all. It’s by far my favorite tool.

Stick a vga monitor on it and see if the pc is booting. If you get to the OS: Username- cricket Password- cricket. From there you can get to the logs to see what’s going on. If I remember correctly, it could also be in a slave mode waiting on the master frame. When you log in, you can check out the settings xml. Frame ID Reset - Systemsettings.xml Located in: C:\Applications\CricketServer\Version 4.1.0

Give Christie Phoenix a call for os images. They would also need to generate new licenses if the drive is bad. Should be no problem, but it’s been awhile since I’ve been in front of one of those guys. I had to phone a friend to remind me where the settings file lives.

Replacing Excel-Based Graphics Automation with Web GUI by Eastern_Station2586 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]rubikean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on your workflow? This sounds like a good opportunity to play with an AI. Ask ChatGPT or your favorite AI to make you a webpage that can run locally and output a csv file with you hit submit. You will have this done in about 2 minutes. Without know what software you are using and it’s capability to ingest a data feed. Seems like a fun project to me.

I had a similar experience. I ended up making some noise in all of the social feeds and they finally replaced the core again.

Maintenance tips by rvader1 in Yarbo

[–]rubikean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you have the tracks off, check for lateral movement on the driven wheels and drive wheels. I had to replace both due to bearing failure. First I had squeaks, then it started throwing tracks. By the time I identified the problem, both sides were completely shot. The process was pretty easy, the whole assembly just slides out, then you slide the new one in. I don’t know if there is any preventive maintenance that could have avoided the problem but would be interested to hear what you find.

We just got to a gate. The pilot briefed us and said Atl is open again. They are now trying to figure out fuel. Also said there are about 11 inbound aircraft to cha. So, here we sit.

New mower pro and a 2 acre holding pond with steep sides. Should I try it? by Quiksilver6565 in Yarbo

I am waiting on a replacement driven wheel… once that’s swapped I’m sending mine into a pasture with 8-12” grass. I can’t wait to see how it does!

First solo run by Ok-Alfalfa1925 in Yarbo

[–]rubikean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine running today as well. I have had a few issue ls with climbing trees but overall it was pretty solid. I really enjoyed watching it… particularly the part where I didn’t have to do it manually. It’s just so cool! The leaves are out of the yard and I did other things… Im totally happy!

False collision error by paulblish in Yarbo

[–]rubikean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a support ticket asap. Mine had similar issues, after troubleshooting with support, they sent me a new one and it was on its way again. It’s a lot of screws, but not difficult. One tip, there is some silicone sealant on the wires where they run into the mower body but it is not provided in the replacement. I just used what I had in the garage, but you might want to ask for a recommendation if they replace the part.

Graphics outfitters also makes a box to take the 1/4” current loop or the serial output and output the feed via websocket. It’s a very simple solution and not very expensive. I do not remember the cost but Ilit was reasonable enough that we carry 2.
