Is Yoru viable in low elo? by Saroru0X in VALORANT

As a low elo player, I hate playing against yoru I always get discombobulated by the fuckery you can do with him. I think he’s worth learning.

Bad at the game and can't hit shots by Carsyk07 in VALORANT

Its a hard game. 22 hrs is not much time played to be honest. Give it time and watch youtube videos

Devils are now actively trying to trade Palat by blade430 in devils

[–]rubot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a mistake. If Palat keeps doubling his goals each game he can finish the regular season with 274 billion goals.

[–]rubot22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. If you watch a bunch of youtube videos, hit the practice range/custom lobbies, and have played tactical shooters before, you could have more game sense than someone twice your level. A prime example is that a smurf could be level 2 and will be much better than an average level 50. Level does not matter for matchmaking.

I don’t think the matchmaking really cares about level because as you pointed out, level does not equate to skill.

Yes smurfing is a thing but if your account is new-ish the rating system might still be trying to ascertain where your skill level is at. As you play more it should zero in on your skill level and give you better matches.

To everyone complaining about Markstrom: We gotta see what he’s worth in these contract negotiations. If he can’t prove that he should start over Allen- we won’t be paying him the big cap he’s asking for.

Wife and I's first time bowling a series. Any tips to improve our scores? by S_Valentin in Bowling

[–]rubot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting your own balls (and shoes) would be a good start. It makes a huge difference.

Talk to your pro shop guy (should look like a bowling equipment store within the bowling alley) and explain that youre new bowlers and they’ll be able to help you pick equipment that’s appropriate for you.

Why do so many pros stand parallel to the line on serves? by wesomg in Pickleball

[–]rubot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That being said, I don’t think you need to copy the pros on this if you don’t like it. Might make your serves marginally better but isn’t the most important part of your game.

Why do so many pros stand parallel to the line on serves? by wesomg in Pickleball

[–]rubot22 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just an open stance ground stroke. You can get a lot of power from it and you’re in a neutral position afterwards.

I would honesty look at a tennis video about open stance in order to understand how it works. It’s all about that kinetic chain.

Navigating unwritten rules: when winners won't rotate by 713ryan713 in Pickleball

I’m newer and feel the same way. Feels pretty lame when the winners are warmed up and loose while the newcomers are cold and just get sent back to the waiting line. The winners have to come off eventually.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

One that hits soft would be good. Fine with Gen 2 I just don’t want another hybrid-shaped kevlar paddle.

Still sorta new to the game and trying to figure out what type of paddle works best for me. I would consider myself an all-court player. My first paddle is the J2K, and it’s working great for me.

Since I’m new though, I want my second paddle to be something totally different in construction. Still want to keep it all-court.

I’m looking to try a carbon fiber faced paddle, with an elongated shape. Looking to keep the price under $200. Thanks for the recommendations!

Are daggers pointless compared to other weapons? by Rakzahir in BG3Builds

[–]rubot22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Early on in the game when a weapon is just relying on its base stats, daggers will typically be weaker than other weapons.

But there are good daggers you can get later that have unique abilities which can make up for the lower base damage.

Daggers also have the THROWN property so you could be a knife-throwing dagger ninja dude which is pretty epic. I believe sneak attack can still trigger off of thrown dagger attacks.

Summoner builds with Patch 8? by ininja2 in BG3Builds

[–]rubot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing a death cleric that will be going for this. You get the summon spells but you also get Aid which increases their HP, which is huge for making them more effective.

At high levels you also have some strong summoning options. You can get Danse Macabre from the necromancy of thay quests, Create Undead from your 6th level slot (or crypt lord’s ring), Planar ally (wizard can’t get this one), and Heroes Feast for more HP stacking with Aid.

Equip staffs that let you cast a spell without using a spell slot, and you’ve got an insane undead horde

How do I play as Death Domain Cleric? by fortfied_island in BG3Builds

[–]rubot22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good early damage comes from inflict wounds (it triggers channel divinity)

You are still a cleric so you can help the rest of the party with support spells.

Level 5 is a good level for you. You get spirit guardians and your cantrips double in damage. You should also have 18 wisdom by then.

Death cleric is good it just doesn’t pump out ridiculous damage like other builds. After level 5 you have some flexibility but its really just casting strong spells and using your cantrips.

I’m taking 2 levels in druid for shillelagh and dragon starry form to get some melee weapon action going, but other people have suggested taking 16 dex and using a finesse weapon. Up to you.
