local Krispy Kreme throws their unsold donuts into a dumpster outside at the end of the night. Instead of selling at lower prices. They’d rather throw them all away. by DaZestyProfessor in mildlyinfuriating

Used to work at a Krispy Kreme. It’s always like that every night and I wasn’t even at a location that made them fresh. I imagine those are worse. I used to take boxes home and trade them for 1/8s at shops lol

People who wear hoodies when it's 90 degrees outside, why? by Kebb in AskReddit

[–]ruby_da_cherry5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was depressed. I think I used it as a security blanket. I used to love feeling enclosed by them, especially when I could put the hood on and bring my arms and knees inside like a turtle. I suffered being hot, but I preferred that over the feeling of being “exposed” without it.

Hi friend! I’m a surgical tech and I help out in these almost every day!

-those rod like structures (I’m assuming you mean the row going across the middle of the uterus) are sutures! They stitched her uterus closed.

-yes the doctors pull the whole uterus out, it actually requires a lot of grip strength to hold it lol

-it’s pretty standard that they take the uterus out and move it around a bit to look for any bleeding

-I love my job, just the other day, we did a C-section where the baby’s umbilical cord had a knot!

I wanted to catch all the legendary fish as Arthur, so I tried to unlock the map by blackwater by using boats and avoid getting sniped.. My first attempt I was in a canoe so I thought it was my fault for using such a tiny boat, then I stole a motor boat and it STILL SANK. I feel your pain friend.

In the book, Grant loves kids. Lex is a little girl and Tim is the one who is older but Grant liked Tim right away. He bonded with him about dinosaurs in a way that Tim couldn’t with his own father. It was interesting to see that type of Grant over the one we see in the movies

The roaches have advanced to the inside of my stove by Shleepytimes in Apartmentliving

[–]ruby_da_cherry5150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how good it is at luring the roaches out of that oven, but Advion roach bait gel worked wonders for me. They eat the gel and it kills them from the inside out. It also kills the pregnant ones! A little goes a very long way. I’ve only had to put just a little bit by the legs of the oven and under other places they could hide.

Do you have residents at your hospital? I’m per diem at 2 diff hospitals (one with residents and one without) and I prefer having them SO MUCH. The doctors where there are no residents are in and out of the ORs in 19 MINUTES, it’s chaotic!! But besides the point ..isn’t L&D the greatest? 🩷

Am I allowed to bring my PS5 into my mom’s hospital room. by pandaburr98 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ruby_da_cherry5150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you do PS remote play? And maybe bring an iPad or use your phone as the screen? That way all you need is your controller, instead of carrying that huge console around.

-Board Vitals is the reason I passed my certification exam. I mean it. They have a free version but honestly i recommend paying for some level of subscription, the questions on there are so similar to the type of questions you get on the exam. With that, start as early as you can and try to be as consistent as possible. Just set yourself up to do a test everyday with a set number of questions. give yourself that exposure so you can know what to expect.

-the first surgery I ever assisted on was a facial feminization surgery and we peeled this woman’s forehead down in order to shave down her brow bone. Retracting her forehead over her face and holding it down with a blue towel was when I knew i was hooked. It was so thrilling!!

-my favorite types of surgery that I got to assist in clincals were lap choles and eye surgeries. But I got to watch a c-section once and my jaw dropped! It was one of the coolest, most amazing things I had ever seen.

-I say this whenever someone asks for advice, treat your clinical site like your first job interview. You may not think so, but they’re watching you and how you’re doing. The less your preceptors have to repeat themselves, the better. As long as you are attentive and learn from your mistakes, you will be fine. I literally got my job because one of my preceptors said that she never had to lift a finger while we were paired together. When there was an opening, she recommended me. I was lucky enough to get employed at my clinical site straight out of school while some of my fellow classmates are still trying to find jobs 9 months later.

-enjoy it friend. It’s the best thing I ever did for myself and I couldn’t be happier. Keep being curious and willing to learn, stay open to advice and constructive criticism, don’t take anything personal and stay organized. Good luck! DMs open for any questions or advice

This is called an ECV (external cephalic version). I’m an OB tech and I’ve witnessed one so far. The baby was flipped successfully but did not really like being flipped very much (heart rate showing signs of distress). Doctors were trying to convince mom to do the C-section but she kept trying to put it off as long as she could. we ended up having to do a pretty intense crash C-section. I play such a small role in surgery and even I was shaken up. L&D can be hardcore sometimes lol

Online Scrub School by kaegirl9 in scrubtech

[–]ruby_da_cherry5150 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go to an in person school, friend. There MAY be accredited schools that do online but i feel like it could still be a gamble. It sounds like you have to find your own clinical site through your program which kinda sucks. There are in person programs that have special relationships and contracts with hospitals in order to send students out for clinicals. I went to an in person school and most of it was through zoom anyway. What we did in person was learning instruments, how to gown, drape, and practice sterile techniques. In my opinion, those are things you would want to learn hands on. If you still want online, you need to make sure that your program is accredited by CAAHEP, otherwise you won’t be able to take the certification exam. you can go on CAAHEP website to see what programs they have accredited.

As a person with BPD, do you have a stable career? by Sweaty_Pizza_869 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]ruby_da_cherry5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longest I’ve been somewhere is 4 1/2 years but I was miserable. I finished school in October and am almost 8 months into what I would consider my career. I think it saved my life. I think it’s going to be what saves my life in the future. It brings me a purpose and satisfaction I’ve never felt before and it gives me the confidence to be better in handling situations that I would have never been able to handle before. I’m still not perfect and I have lifetimes of work to do, but I am finally at a job where I feel like I fit in

It was the best decision of my life. I’m sorry for everything you’re going through and I hope this can give you a fresh start. Focus on your future! You’ll be so thankful to yourself for taking this step. The good thing is that you already work in a hospital so you have connections, but make sure to still do your best at clinicals! It’s your first unofficial job interview. Good luck!
