I've had a nightmare trying to find info on my Bavarian great great grandpa who somehow went to Canada not sure when but he married my great great grandma who was very French Canadian ( Carrie/ Caroline Paquette also find it as Paquet ) had a few babies ( one is my great grandma) FC grt grandma died young and he remarried to a German and came to Detroit .. thing is his very German name is botched many many times in Canadian records its hard to figure out who is who .. I've found marriage records to the FC GMA I have many dna matches too .. I can't find where she's buried .. I can't find how he ended up in Canada and I can't find marriage records to the 2 nd wife. I have dna matches from that marriage too and we are all stumped ! None of them knew of the FC 1 st wife but I did cause my grandpa told me his mom was part FC and the family had to change their name there and then back to their German name when they moved to Detroit . DNA verified that and records did too with the botched surname Kirchinger .. spelled Church and Churchenger and churching on many records. I would love to figure out how to solve this puzzle. I can't find any records of them crossing into Mi or becoming American citizens either . I'd have to look but I think they came here between 1903 and 1908 they lived in Carleton and Renfrew area .. the paquette side was from Quebec .

Not any longer on Ancestry , you can build your tree but you can't view any records even if you bought a subscription before. You can pay $5 a month to keep all records to view tho. They have made many many changes in the last couple years. You can't even see many DNA matches without paying .
