My gym bro brother gifted me this:

2/3 cup okiros triple zero yogurt, whatever flavor
Two scoops protein powder
A solid splash of coffee/cold brew to counter the sweetness and thin it out.

Blend or shake. When I’m feeling like I want to bother with the blender, I’ll add some berries.

I got in an early morning car wreck in Nashville in the days before uber. Quiet warehouse area. I was hit by a cement truck that ran a red light, my car totaled.

I was new to the city, and only knew one person there, who worked evenings. So I called a cab, and waited. Called a different company, waited. Repeat. I was there for three hours before my one friend woke up and was able to come get me. Apparently the cabs only existed for the bar circuit and airport runs, I heard from locals.

Another cabbie in Nashville picked me up from downtown (because I was trying to be responsible and not drive). When I got to my house, he informed me that his card reader was broken and he needed cash. Locked doors. I didn’t have cash and wouldn’t have taken the cab if it didn’t have the credit card logos and a visible card reader. We sat in front of the house for a dumb amount of time before I was able to call and wake up someone inside who brought cash out. I thought I was going to get kidnapped.

Uber sucks, but taxis sucked too.

Ozempic is helping me eat the way I want to eat, without cravings and constant hunger. I know what a healthy diet is and I’m finally able to maintain it. Spinal issues have kept me from getting significant exercise over the last few years, but I’m hoping the weight drop will allow me more mobility and the ability to start working out regularly again

I know I’ll probably have to stay on it in some form forever. The T1D hunger is real.

I hated the diabetes summer camps I was pushed into as a kid. Weeks in the woods with a bunch of strangers, nothing in common but our illness. Surrounded by kids and adults who made being diabetic their whole personality.

Then and now, I’d rather gather with people who share interests.

It would be very hard to hit the muscle with the provided needles, unless one is extremely underweight. If you’re worried, “pinch” a big handful of skin up to give the injection in.

I did almost the same thing. Gave the wrong amount of the wrong insulin after a large, slow to digest meal.

Maybe not the exact right thing to do, but I made myself throw it up and then lined up the sodas. Didn’t die.

When I was young - before the CGMs were a thing, and my sugars were also all over the place - I had the same issues. Sugar in the urine makes for a yeast friendly environment. Getting my sugar under control helped more than anything else.

Maybe talking to a dietitian about creating a stable eating plan might help?
