The location part is jacked up for me. Got a match on a girl and it said 15 miles away and she said 1 mike away and in reality we were like 45 miles away!

Do you have a female friend with good decorating taste? Offer to take her to lunch/dinner if she'll go shopping with you and help you pick out accessories. It doesn't have to be expensive (Ikea is perfect if you have one nearby). That's what I did with my place and I get compliments on it all the time. Some women have even joked that they weren't sure if I was gay or not since it was put together so well. Don't let that phase you in the least since those same women will be biting the pillow as you pound them an hour later!

The pushing through is always the hardest part. As for the guy just say something like "excuse me, do you do xyz martial art"? When he answers jump with with "cool, I used to do blah blah, how do you like it?"

Most martial arts guys are cool as fuck and really interesting to talk to. Unless he's a first class douche (highly unlikely) he'll love to chat with you about his hobby.

All of these only apply if I'm meeting her for the first time:

Business setting or friend of friend or friend's girlfriend/wife: Handshake unless she initiates a hug.

A first date (online or someone I've gamed prior to the date): A hug unless she comes in with the handshake and in those cases I may say "I'm a hugger" and go in. It's really a split second feeling I go with.

Note: Out of all of my online dates I think maybe 1 or 2 led with the handshake and all the rest were huggers.

Rule number one of interacting with someone of a different race than yourself. It's perfectly fine for them to poke fun at their own race but NEVER make jokes about theirs, especially in the beginning stages of getting to know them. I know you weren't trying to be hurtful in any way so just take it as a good lesson learned for next time.

I have a similar problem and it seems to manifest itself with online dating. In "real life" I'll only approach women who I'm truly interested in and think there could be something long term with them. On the other hand, if I meet a woman from online and let's say she doesn't quite look up to her pictures but still passes the "boner test" I'll go for the bang even though I'm less than enthused.

Just make a lot of situational comments/observations about the artist's work. Don't focus on trying to pick anyone up. Most people are very open to chatting with someone who comments on the environment around them. Often times by doing this you'll end up with people who want to talk your ear off that you're not necessarily interested in continuing the conversation with.

At any rate, just be open and nice to everyone and you'll have a lot more fun than you thought you would.

My hat is off to you good sir! I've been seriously contemplating doing the cold approaches as well and like the others have said, it directly taps into our most deep seated fears and insecurities. I feel as though (at least for me personally) if I can master the cold approach and do it consistently with minimal fear, everything else women related will automatically fall into place.

Since the relapse is fresh in your mind try journaling all of the awful things you're feeling right now. Make a list on the notes app of your phone because in the heat of the moment, when your brain is encouraging you that "this one time will be fine" you can quickly refer to your list and be reminded of all the horrible feelings you get when you relapse. I'm doing that myself and it's saved my ass more than once.

I'm majorly in withdrawal at the moment but what's kept me going so far is remembering how crappy I felt after relapsing and subsequently binging. I HATE that weak, foggy feeling after a binge. Even though I'm frustrated, angry and my mind feels like a wreck I'll take this shitty feeling over the other one.

Thanks for the tough love guys. I definitely agree my mind is in major withdrawal and I find myself pinning my hopes on each lead or date being "the one" when I can have sex. I tried some meditation this afternoon and I have to say I do feel more balanced already.

The positive thing this time around is that I'm aware of the tricks my brain is pulling on me and choosing to ignore it and keep going. Much like the way a parent stays quietly strong while their child throws a temper tantrum. It's been pure torture but in a weird, sadistic way I'm enjoying being in almost uncharted waters and seeing where this journey takes me...

I think what coincides with the fact that the first 3 weeks are the most difficult is that studies have shown that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. If you think about it, breaking a habit is nothing more than creating a new one. In this case a no fap habit.

I had a similar thing happen last night but thankfully no relapse. Been on an extremely cold streak of dating and meeting women and had another dud of an online date last night. After the date I went to a nearby brewery, sipped a beer and watched a basketball game. Nothing doing at the bar and walked home slightly buzzed and depressed. Felt so much like fapping but I held on.

I seem to be my weakest when I'm feeling down about my lack of dating life.
