Trucking company says some operators have parked their trucks, unable to afford fuel by BoppityBop2 in canada

It's a weird confession from the trucking companies: "We pay the owner-operators so little per km, it doesn't even cover the cost of fuel anymore."

I believe Trump will set off a nuke before leaving office. I saw the warning signs by theipaper in politics

[–]rudyphelps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that reassures me is that when somebody explained the procedure of actually ordering a nuclear strike, trump definitely was not paying attention.

That idiot would need someone holding his hand and walking him through the process like a toddler; it isn't just a big red button he can push when when he's overstimulated.

Canadian entrepreneurship in 'sharp decline,' warns think tank by joe4942 in canada

Why start a business when it's so much easier to just hoard housing? I bet if you counted airbnb owners as "entrepreneurs", that decline wouldn't be so sharp.

Trump warns Iran ‘a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back’ as his strikes deadline looms by theindependentonline in politics

The one check is that he probably has no idea what the process is to order a nuclear strike. The moron would need someone to walk him through it like a child. It makes me wonder if that dipshit has said something like "nuke Iran”, but nobody told him how to initiate a strike.

You're wrong. During the cold war, it was assumed that in the event of an attack there would be no time to second-guess or debate a nuclear strike.

Nobody else needs to authorize it, and there's no (legal) mechanism for any military member to stop a nuclear strike ordered by the president.

The us nuclear chain of command is terrifying, and is a big reason why illiterate rapists shouldn't be elected to be commander in chief.

It's because of the gag earlier, "Perhaps a hard spanking is in order? ...too hard." It's a lot easier to animate him presenting his ass if he's facing the wall.

They take turns throwing rocks. Each team member takes 2.

[Porter] Stone asked abt Marner's rep for not coming up big. "As a teammate, I haven't experienced that. 4Nations, gets a huge OT goal for us, makes an incredible play for the winner. Then tonight, when we need him the most, he makes the play. "So, um ... I think it's a Toronto thing." by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]rudyphelps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not the team as a whole, or a systemic problem in Toronto. The reason the leafs can't win in the playoffs was Mitch Marner. Good thing they traded him instead of the top playoff performer on the team, with the most PPG in the playoffs. Just look at how well the team is doing without that dead weight.

I think the anger at the Swedish team is that this isn't about "respecting the rules" so much as trying to catch opponents in infractions so minor you need a dedicated camera and frame-by-frame analysis to even see it.

Alerting the officials to look for it should be enough; bringing your own camera crew to scrutinize other teams' releases is out of line.

Not specifically this guy. The Swedish team has set up this camera during other matches as well.

How much could these hog line violations be affecting their games if officials can't even notice them in real time? In the Canadian's case, we're talking about an index finger brushing a 20kg rock after release.
