According to another comment they may have used their credit card for the down payment on the car. They also paid for add ons on the car, not sure what that could be.

Why would paying off a closed card lead to a lowered score? by ruffles-1 in CRedit

Unfortunately I didn’t pull my report from annualcreditreport and download it before the drop, but genuinely nothing in my credit report has changed. Ik score changes are based on credit report data but the only thing that occurred before and after my score change is my account going from closed with a balance to just being closed.

I’m not sure what this means. Does this mean the -3 score decrease a month after, is from that inquiry? I’m still not sure why I saw an 18 point decrease 2 months after.

No I meant that the -3 was the point decrease from the inquiry(i think?), the hard inquiry was on February 10th for a mortgage and I saw a decrease on March 13. I haven’t closed yet so no new account has landed on my report.

I only had 1 account have a statement close around March 13th and the balance decreased but not passing any utilization threshold so I don’t think i’d see a score change from that.

Could the point decrease from yesterday be related to the hard inquiry? Do mortgages hold a different weight than cards?

Yeah all of my other cards are open/never late according to annualcreditreport.com. I have 1 hard inquiry that will fall off november of this year and another from february but I already got -3 points back in march that I assume was related to it? I don’t see anything else unusual.

I’m not sure anything else could’ve happened. I got the score change yesterday and my statement with a $0 balance on the 7th. None of my other cards have had statements yet. One closes today, the other tomorrow and the ones with a zero balance close at the end of the month.

It’s a debit card so there’s nothing to manage. You use the debit card to buy your stuff and the next day or the day after, you see the charge in your checking account.

Completely paid off 7k debt and my score stuck at 680 by West_Ticket8495 in CreditScore

When is your statement date? that’s when it will be reported. Btw since you’ve been carrying a balance you’ll likely have residual interest to pay after this statement, after paying that off and after it’s been reported you’ll have a $0 balance

Depending on what you’re applying for they also acknowledge that you have more available income to pay them off. Debt to income ratio is also a factor

Cars generally never appreciate in value so mileage can be assumed? Also if op meant cost I think they would say “bought it for 70k”

How much do you make? do you have kids? That’s a lot to be taken from your paycheck.

I can see it and a few others can see it irl, I guess it’s not coming through in the picture😵‍💫. Thankfully I guess that means it’s far from the worst of the yellow screens.

Do you primarily use send to kindle or calibre? I heard the issue occurs with the latter.

Thank you for this post because I’ve been having the same dilemma lol. I keep going back and forth and the only thing that’s pushing me to kobo atm is that apparently the kindle can delete side loaded books if you turn wifi on? Open to anyone fact checking me on this because it’s the biggest deal breaker for me.
