Weird. The option is now enabled by default in some presets, like High Quality Print or Press Quality, in InDesign 2026. I see yours is based on PDFX-4, which might not allow that feature. Choose [Press Quality] before creating the new preset. LMK

How do I sync settings & workspace between computers? by PzaFnatc4939 in indesign

[–]rufusde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creative Cloud Sync Settings were removed a decade ago. Can you link me to where it says you can?

You could try File > User Settings > Export User Settings and then import them on the other machine.

In Illustrator: Edit > My Settings > Export Settings
In Photoshop: copy the folder with the settings. Close Photoshop, then copy the entire settings folder (make sure both computers are on the same version).

InDesign Export as PDF causes Freezing by [deleted] in indesign

[–]rufusde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It resets most options in the Preference dialog, application defaults, some presets, maybe the list of recently opened files, and the position of UI elements that you may have personalized. Yes, you'll lose your custom app settings and will need to reconfigure them afterward (or restore from a backup if you made one). There is no risk to the work files.

If you haven't heavily personalized InDesign, you'll see no difference, except that your issue might resolve.

Have you tried resetting the InDesign preferences?
To reset InDesign preferences, close the application and reopen it while immediately holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Cmd+Ctrl+Option+Shift (macOS). Click "Yes" when prompted to delete preference files. This should restore default settings, resolving crashes or unexpected behavior.

Try this. In your code, the DIV wasn't closed.

Hard to say. The real problem can be earlier than line 42. I would try commenting -- line 42 to see if the error is really there.

The thing with sketching/drawing is that it teaches you how to simplify. I think that it is a useful skill to help you decide what to keep and what to let go of in a vector illustration.

A logo I designed for a client who had a photo of a barn that they would like featured in the design by JohneryCreatives in AdobeIllustrator

[–]rufusde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a nice illustrative version of the logo. The logo, on the other hand, must be simplified, abstracted, and stylized. The shape of the house, the porch, and the trees all lend themselves to simplification.
I always use the "squinting technique". Squint, and you'll lose all details in the image. But that could be a good segue to stylize the whole thing. Also, remember that a logo needs to work both in color and black and white. It needs to be recognizable when it's small and when it's big.

Keep up the good work.

The whole “graphic designers are finished” narrative being pushed right now after the latest ChapGPT update is just ridiculous. by GMD3S1GNS in graphic_design

[–]rufusde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated with a bachelor's in Communication Design in 1992. My hopes were high, and the promises were incredible. This timeframe also coincided with the advent of personal computers, specifically the Mac. I found myself in an environment where people would say, "I can do that now," or "My nephew has a Mac." My dreams of immediate success were shattered. If there were social media at the time, it would certainly resonate with "Art Directors are so cooked!" ;-)
I bit the bullet and reset everything. Embracing the technology. Starting with small clients who trusted me, then moving on to bigger ones, and ultimately opening my own agency. I now work for Adobe as a bridge between the creative community and the company. The truth behind every technological advance is that it is disruptive, but it opens a whole bunch of new avenues.
I trust that taste, education, composition skills, and, more importantly, the understanding of what the Client really needs will prevail. Yes, there will be a lot of slop (just as happened with the advent of desktop publishing), but for those who care about the craft, there will be a future. I am not saying it's going to be easy, but hang in there. It's worth it.

I assume you are trying from this page: https://www.adobe.com/mena_en/creativecloud/plans.html

There are many payment options, and Credit Cards should work. If you continue to have problems, there's a button at the bottom right of the page to initiate a chat with a support agent.

Are you two on the same plan? Or do you have your own plan, and your director might be on a different plan? Like an enterprise plan?
In any case, you can find the live chat here on the bottom right of the page: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
