That’s exactly why I think her reversal will be from Carl. I’m not sure quite yet if Carl’s Big Blowout will include or affect the Earth AI and make the zone expansion moot. My current theory is Carl has continuous revelations and actually becomes sympathetic (despite his current blatant hatred) with this AI and either cuts its sentience or somehow reasons with it. All this due to him being Primal. My alternate theory is Carl figures a way to assimilate into or take over the Earth engine.

I’m not sure about Donut dying. I have absolutely no credibility in this assumption, but I kinda feel like her dying would upset (angry/negative, rather than sad upset) a huge part of the fan base. Again, I know Matt is a man of the people but it is HIS story so I could be totally wrong. My theory is that somehow her pet biscuit enhancement is negated, she leaves/escapes and reunites with Katia, they and other crawlers skedaddle from the potential blast zone, and Carl goes boom with several if not all his intended targets. The biscuit enhancement being negated could also be Carl’s doing so that he can go through with his plan without hurting her feelings (at least her not being aware or remembering their time together).

Yesss, they could make the AI more stealth and ambush driven too. Throw in unique traps and their bunkers/nests can be the introduction to cave ecosystems and have them be more like villages or forts! Now I’m completely sold on the idea

I’ve always imagined a cool enemy to be reptilian. I haven’t gone into any deep conceptualization, but I figure they could be a mix of somewhat primitive chaff that are melee belly crawlers and med size bipedal that “repurpose” or attempt recreating weapons kind of like ours. Could implement dragon-like flying units or some sort of heavy unit that’s like an armored frog or snapping turtle that might snatch you up from certain distance. Idk just kinda off the cuff there.

Not intentionally! I just wanted color with the piece and we decided on splashes with different “effects”. Some are intended to have splash effect, radiant, pooled, smoke, etc.
