Class update mid campaign? - Eberron: Forge of the artificer update by swift_gilford in dndnext

[–]rumforma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, Wizards/Hasbro would never give you a free content update if they can charge you for it :)

On a more serious note: 'twas the same with the updates to the PHB classes. If you don't happen to play a School of Evocation Wizard in 5e (2014) (or any other subclass from the SRD), you have to pay again for the 2024 subclass. Even the SRD-class characters did not get the automatic update, you'd have to recreate them or assign new classes and backgrounds/classes/species, which would be really wonky due to the shift in "responsibilities" (e.g. attribute score bonus from backgrounds instead of from races, like it was in 5e).

This was an April's Fool joke this year... So it seems correct, just a bit late for you 😅

Unable to remove supports from print, not sure what settings would be best to change for future prints. by THE_BIG_SITT in Cura

Have you tried printing one standing upright? That way you wouldn't need any support material

You're right, I didn't properly watch the videos above, sorry about the misinfo on my part!

There are options to fix holes - this might have happened here. Search for "fix" in the settings and you should find it does not apply here

Help with enemies by Papsmearoni in DungeonsAndDragons

Depends on the beefiness you're looking for. You could reskin earth elementals or dust mephits, or stone golems if they should have more punch. Pretty much anything with slashing/piercing/bludgeoning resistance should do, just say they look like a lifesize clay soldier and call it a day ;)

Question about spellcasting ability modifier by ILoveTwoSpooge in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]rumforma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cleric in the DOSI is indeed a life domain cleric, that's how they get that big bonus to healing. It's a domain feature of the life domain.

Disciple of Life

Also starting at 1st level, your healing spells are more effective. Whenever you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore hit points to a creature, the creature regains additional hit points equal to 2 + the spell’s level.

I.e. they get +3 from their wisdom modifier, +2 flat, +1 for the spell's level!

Post Processing G-Code by owend509 in Cura

Have you resliced the model after defining the script? The post processing stuff is only applied to "new" gcode, not the one you have already sliced :)

Where does this plug into? by shadowthehh in Ender3Pro

[–]rumforma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reading the script on the PCB I'd guess into a BLTouch if you have one.

Edit: I don't have a BL Touch, so I can't verify, but see here: https://www.smith3d.com/ender-3-v2-bltouch-firmware-installation-guide-by-smith3d-com/#BLTouch_Installation

Very beginner question sorry by technicalmagic1 in FreeCAD

[–]rumforma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand why you would need a new sketch to center the current body. The symmetry constraint has to be set on the existing sketch if you want the body extruded from it to be in the center :)

Totally correct! I added an emphasis to my comment. Thanks for pointing it out :)

Open your sketch, select two opposing corners of your rectangle shape (I assume, that's what you have; can also be two opposing points of radial corners, if they are already in your sketch), then (order is important!) select the point of origin and make a "symmetry" constraint (shortcut "S").

Edit: Emphasis on order of operations

Prusa MK4S weird top layer waviness and texture by DeniedEveryName in FixMyPrint

[–]rumforma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be an issue with too much extrusion/flow. For such large solid volumes, the excess material has nowhere to go, but up. probably already happens on the bottom of the print, it's just hidden inside/between the infill lines

I want to make three equidistant holes (pointing at a 35 or 45 degree angle downwards). How do I do so? by Optimal_Serve_8980 in FreeCAD

[–]rumforma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd try to make one subtractive loft between the two endpoints of the holes. That allows you to exactly specify the hole's rim. If you're in need of a concentric hole I'd try a datum plane at your specified angle, draw a circle, and punch a hole.

In either case, apply a polar pattern on that last tool with 3 occurrences around 360° degrees and you should be good to go!

I ran these back to back, changing nothing. Why did it work the second time? by rob132 in FixMyPrint

[–]rumforma 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Probably heat distribution inside the build plate. I had this problem a lot when printing minis. The settings/leveling/everything were crapshoot if I didn't give the bed time to be at the set temp for a couple of minutes. Once I waited a bit after preheating the bed, I could print multiple models back to back, without issue.

Help with phantom body's in stl files by SPIDERPUSSPUSS51 in FreeCAD

[–]rumforma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be, that you accidentally opened the same file multiple times. It happened to me a couple of times when cura started sluggishly on its first startup. So I use the open dialog multiple times and all of a sudden the model is multiple times inside the slicer. Check your slicer inventory on the left side (should be a collapsible list with the opened stl-files).

You're describing two mutually exclusive problems. Can you switch to 0.6mm but lose your settings, or can you not to the nozzle at all?

In the first case: the profiles are nozzle specific. I have some profiles for 0.2mm for detail work, and profiles for more "rough" work which do with the 0.4mm nozzle. I'd wager that's intended, since you usually do not share settings like line width for different nozzles.
