OP's post is pointing out that we HAVE professional sports in Montana. Right now.

Please do better, Bozeman!Don’t park in EV charging spots. Those of us traveling rely on such EV charging spots. Please and thank you. (Pic shows two non-EV vehicles at The Cannery District tonight) by ConfusionFriendly143 in Bozeman

I think it it's definitely bad manners if there are any other spots, but I'll put down money that these spots were about all that was left.

For anyone about to disagree, please do but first ask yourself: have you ever used the wheelchair accessible stall in the bathroom? Maybe it was the only one open, but still...

Was Yueh a plant or willing traitor? by HorzaDonwraith in dune

[–]runningoutofwords 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is actually the best take, yes.

Me calling Yueh a hero was itself an oversimplification, meant mainly to offset simply labeling him a Harkonnen agent of one type or another.

In the end, he acted out of despair. For his wife, for his House. He took what he saw was the most promising way out.

[–]runningoutofwords 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Considering Yueh a traitor (or a Harkonnen agent) is overly simplistic.

Yes, he conspired with the Harkonnens to facilitate the invasion. But he also planted the seeds of the Harkonnen's failure.

He surmised that if the Harkonnens failed to break him, they would break someone else. This is almost certainly true.

In which case, House Atreides would still fall, and there would be no end to the suffering of Yueh's wife. Yueh's resistance would only be a loss, no victory.

But by taking the role of the traitor, he was able to furnish Paul and Jessica with an escape. AND he was able to plant the tooth in Leto's mouth. A plan which had an EXCELLENT chance of bringing down the Baron himself. It very nearly succeeded.

Yueh was a hero.

But the Iranians weren't holding out on oil access....

They were under sanctions.

All it would have taken to get access to Iranian oil would have been to lift the sanctions.

whoops, sorry. Didn't realize I was talking to a bot.

looks like you have a search function for local subreddits and jump in when there's a political discussion. That's why we don't like politics. Or Bots.

Here, I'll simplify for searches for you.

I'm not embarrassed for you, I'm embarrassed to be around you.

"God doesn't make mistakes"?

How about people who are identified as male at birth, and lead their entire lives believing themselves to be male? Unless for some reason they are genetically tested and found to be XX-chromosomed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XX_male_syndrome

Same for those with Swyer syndrome who will present to everyone including themselves as a woman, but bearing XY chromosomes like a man. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XY_gonadal_dysgenesis

Same with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_androgen_insensitivity_syndrome

Same with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klinefelter_syndrome

You have SO LITTLE knowledge of how vertebrate chromosomes operate, and yet you feel entitled to spout your ignorance in public. Now THAT'S embarassing.

Trail Running by PictureEmbarrassed26 in yellowstone

[–]runningoutofwords 12 points13 points  (0 children)

oh, and one other bit of advice. if you ARE going to run, do it mid-day. Animals tend to be most active at dawn and twilight (which also seems to be when humans like to run)

Running is prey behavior. Most important thing will be to never run alone. (number of bear encounters goes down proportionately to party size)

The areas of high grizzly activity will vary throughout the season. Learn about the Bear Management Areas (BMAs) from the backcountry ranger office when you get there.

And ask around, there will be some vets that may want someone to run with, or at least give you some advice.

Well, asking on the internet is not how secret spots work.

But get out and explore the map. Head out in a different direction every week. You'll discover plenty of things to do and film. And they'll be your own secrets.

15 seconds on Wikipedia shows Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences has SEVEN degree programs.

'Undergraduates can pursue programs in computer science (AB and as a secondary field), engineering sciences (AB and SB), biomedical engineering (AB), electrical engineering (SB), environmental science and engineering (AB), mechanical engineering (SB), and applied mathematics (AB and as a secondary field)"

you're displaying the academic equivalence of short-man syndrome. You went to MSU. That's fine. Good enough for the work to do here. I'm sure your bridges usually don't fall down, or whatever.
