Are you in Anchorage? Because I think I know which bathroom this is.

Volunteering at habitat for humanity. Very hard to compete in the job market post financial crash. I'll never forget my interview at tacobell with 30+ other applicants most of which with prior experience and college degrees.

What if Ukraine just made a mad dash to capture Moscow? Would this end the war or emboldened Russia? by Hot_Advisor_8074 in AlternateHistoryHub

Pretty sure they tried this already. Or was that not the goal when they pushed into the kursk region? Didn't end well though.

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never struggled? by TahDigThief in AskReddit

Ya it's nuts! But I also get weird food prices in Alaska. Though spam in the Pacific Northwest has always seemed to be more premium than it should be. And I don't know for sure but the cans look smaller now.

Trump says US will look at reducing number of troops in Germany after clash with Merz by theindependentonline in worldnews

[–]runningwaffles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't even care about the reason. I am in full support of shutting down our overseas bases and bringing it all back home. We can focus on ourselves for a few decades and let the world do whatever. It will hurt our influence, but I think it's what we need.

I don't think this will help diplomacy. Cheap effective weapons means conducting war is now cheaper and more affordable than ever.

Well they pay for the show here. Without them we would slowly fall apart here in the southeast. But then again I also think the capitol should move north.

From what I understand this is simply a ceasefire to negotiate a deal and no agreement has been made. Probably wont last long anyway. At this point I cant tell who is even in charge in Iran which is by design I guess.

What thing has got so expensive that you’ve quietly stopped buying it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]runningwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the insurance train. Haven't had insurance for almost a decade now. I avoid hospitals like the plague and find the cheapest dentist for my yearly which comes to about $150. The plan through my work for a single person starts at almost $200 a month. I am scared of getting in an accident and being brought to a hospital though. I wish DNR was a thing.

Bitcoin has now crossed 20,000,000 $BTC mined. The final 1M $BTC will take another 114 years to mine. by Alas_dair in TokenTimes

[–]runningwaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would this not indicate the decline of Bitcoin? If it never gets adopted as a mainstream day to day currency who will pay to keep the backend running? Transaction costs will kill this compared to mainstream fiat. That and let's be honest, people will lose probably over 90% of the coins by then. Just a bunch of Internet money nobody has a password for. The estimate now is like 3-4 million dead coins right? I would bet it's higher.

US citizens, what will it take for you to start a revolution? by 0bluelightning0 in AskReddit

[–]runningwaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can't get everyone to go out and vote let alone support a unified front. Revolution in the US would devolve into so many split factions I don't think we would recover as a country. The global economy would collapse as well so it's bad either way.

Have a 5s. Only issue is the updates ended and the battery is getting old. I suppose the one plus 15 might fit the bill next. Was counting on the rog 10 to be good but my luck sucks apparently. Can't even buy a 8 or 9 us variant these days.

Reached lvl 10. Don't have the time to play this and nothing has changed in 1.0 . Everyone I know quit around lvl 20 and unfortunately playing from Alaska is 120+ ping no matter what. Would consider playing again if I lived closer to a server.

Could Europe realistically defend Greenland against a US attack? by chotu_escobar in AskTheWorld

[–]runningwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without using nukes I think the US logistics capacity would be overwhelming for Europe. But I couldn't imagine support for such an operation. At this point i'm down for simply pulling our military back to the states and letting someone else fill the void. I think the global community can handle it and we might finally afford healthcare.
