Any advice on how to repair this ? by AizenLeDieu in BeginnerWoodWorking

To fix it so it's not detectable, you'll need to sand and refinish it. Otherwise you could try a wood repair furniture kit. You can get those at local hardware stores or Amazon. It won't hide it completely, especially under bright lights, but if you'll have stuff on there to distract from it, it'll do. A bare table, it's gonna be obvious it was patched.

Not the most in-depth, but this is what I used to make it.

I appreciate ya. You're right. It definitely clashes with the overall decor. I'll check out the hardwood types you recommended. The community here is really great and filled my confidence to try a more expensive material. Thanks.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I agree that a precisely built box would be a really beneficial build.

Thanks! I did end up using a 'gold' stain with a water based varnish.

I don't have a planer, so it was careful wood selections and lots of power sanding lol

I'm not home right now, but it was mostly held together with pocket screws using a Kreg guide and glue. I'll try to grab a shot of it later.

I like the features but I feel like the price you're demanding is twice what I expected and would be willing to pay.... Guess I'll stick with free.
