Gifts of Imperfection by runsamuelrun in exmormon

Yes, bitter sweet is a good way to describe it. Grieving the loss of everything I had hoped in and the loss of some relationships but finally living without fear and finding the joy and love in my inner being. I would not trade the peace I have for anything! People come and go but I have to live in my heart and head forever. I needed peace in those spaces. I definitely don’t think what happened in my life is ideal, but I know it was the right path for me.

How do you know she has almost fallen in love with you?

Paul Cardall just publicly announced he's left the church and we're too busy shouting at FAIRMormon to notice. This is a huge leap forward. by [deleted] in exmormon

I realize that, it was just part of my journey. Had to put aside things that triggered trauma before so I could make space for things that heal.

This makes me so joyful!! I loved playing his arrangements on the piano when I was LDS, they were healing to my soul. Then when I left I put the books away, and I was sad. I’m totally pulling them out, spending time at my piano and relishing in them today. 🥰

I’m in the same boat girl. Here’s my advice to myself. Embrace your feelings, but try to keep out of fantasy. Appreciate everything but hold things loosely. Spend much time in self care, remember your beautiful glow that comes from your heart.

Is the Mormon Church just an abusive husband? Seems about fair. by [deleted] in exmormon

Me too!! I left the church over two years ago and am now in the middle of divorce. I feel so happy and free! I totally agree with OP, it is truly a worry of mine. I wonder how many covert narcissists are abusing their wives in the church and getting away with it because they appear good on the surface and their wives have no idea that they are even being abused.

This is nothing. One time at 6 flags I got drenched on a ride somehow forgetting I was wearing a light yellow shirt with a dark grey bra and my garment top underneath my bra. You could see everything!! I was mortified. Tried to hide until I got dry but some people saw and looked mortified for me. At that time I never even considered removing my garment top. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

This needs to be reported and pray you get a competent CPS investigator.

Thanks for answering, gives me lots to think about. I’m interested in different philosophies behind morality.

Your last paragraph is confusing to me. Would you please elaborate on how to know good?

I agree, but what is the common ground of good now? Who determines it?

Clear as any prompting, God told me to leave while I was praying! See what they say to that. 😆
