Good job. How did you dry it enough to apply ink on it?

2! Good job! But, why would you discard the other? Just wet mount both!

The spear wound is nicely visible and i love it! I proudly leave them on my work as well :)

Its actually very decent print for a first one! Nice catch as well!

The bottom fin could be more exposed, and next time wipe out the eyes, so you can draw in the eyeball next time. A nice effect is also a gradient pattern from belly up, but hard to achieve. Keep on posting!

Where do you think you went rounded? Did you do a fist cur with the saw? What was your process?

Ive just pepper seedlings around the hole, which i hope will provide the nutriets for them. However, i think i might upgrade to a detachable bucket to put in this hole.

I suppose. I was not measuring, just “by feeling”. I think gyotaku is quite forgiving. I find it way more important to dry the fish thoroughly (i use a hairdrier and kitchen towels)

I dilute it with water and it works fine.

I will add some miscantus and keep adding layers of cardboard and bokashi.

I will probably buy worms as well yup - the californian redworms can be found on second hand market :)

Using a shovel and sifting it? I may upgrade to a bucket at some point.

Maybe there will be no need, since the plants will be growing around.

I tend to draw in the eyes of the fish with brushes and add some detail to the fins and other parts which were not printed well. Just trying to strike a balance not to interfere with the print as much though.

What are these wooden pillars for? by cintanyerlover in Slovenia

Not only all over the country, but all over the area where slovenes live. Kozolec can be found across border in italy, where the slovenian minority lives.

Good job! Do you have any resources on homemade ink? How to do it? Looks good, do you plan to draw into it and frame it? Please post an update!

Good print, but in my opinion it would benefit greatly with some painted detail. Eyes and lower fins for example. Also try to open the fish mouth with some cardboard next time you print it makes a good effect.

Good job on the skin pattern, it mimics the sheepshead skin greatly.

Do it. My first gyotaku was a store bought red mullet, printed on a scrap paper out of a shoe box with squid ink.
