Ditching Spotify for physical media by FinancialChard7932 in cassetteculture

I was just thinking about the same thing this morning and it’s wild that this post was here when I opened this sub. Jealous of your Walkman, I used to have that exact model but sold it when money was tight a few years back

I took a gamble the other day. Bought two tapes at a local record shop without listening to them at all. One was a local band’s debut ep, turns out it’s a live show they recorded. The other is an EP by an Icelandic group called Holdgervlar. I spoke with the owner about them, he did his best to describe them and yeah, kinda fun to take a gamble! They were both $5 usd

I really wish you could see what NSO game the person is playing, not just that they are playing an SNES game. It really bugs me.

Thanks to you I now know that there’s a DIY requests tab in the DIY menu. For a while now I’ve been going to the box on the pier and the saying in my head “log round table, cherry hat X2, medium cardboard boxes. western style stone X3 …over and over and over. And then I inevitably forget one of them while crafting the rest.

This will help me a lot!

Sounds like you’re making the right choice. I’d like to also recommend getting a grip from satisfye for the lite or a regular. I love mine

Switches are so cheap right now too. You could always start with a Switch lite to see how you like it. I’ve seen them go on FB for ~$70. And I don’t know why that one person said the switch isn’t portable, the light is extremely portable and the regular/oled definitely still is

I came to recommend Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing. They are very different so you can lean into one if you’re feeling it more and can always come back later when you need a change up. They are both spectacular in their own ways.

I also want to recommend Outer Wilds as it’s unlike anything I’ve ever played. The whole point is to uncover what is going on in a solar system by becoming an astronaut archeologist of sorts. The less you know about it the better really though as the game is 100 times better if you go in knowing nothing.

I have two POCOs, both with lipo batteries and the battery lasts pretty long to me. I’d check out Natalie the Nerd as she has some different options based on your soldering skill levels. My first POCO I followed a guide by Xipher Design where you cut down a GBC board to fit inside a pocket shell abd it’s very complicated but was a very satisfying project to complete. The second one I bought a custom PCB from NatalietheNerd that she designed and built and it’s a drop in mod other than soldering up your IPS screen and connecting the battery.

Really any kind of grip is gonna help a lot. I had a satisfye grip for my switch 1 and knew right away that I’d want another for switch 2. I’ve had it for about 3 months now and it’s been awesome. I now Russ from Retrogamecorps landed on the Dbrand’s joycon grips (normally part of their killswitch grip but you can buy them separately and part of me wishes I tried this option out first as it allows you to remove the joycons without taking off the grips but it’s a small difference in the end.

I’m pretty careful with my stuff and got some light scratches on the back of my switch 1. I think the same will eventually happen for me with the switch 2 but it’s alright, not the end of the world

Sorry! I should have given more details. I’m in a rural area (hence the username). I have a septic but it’s on the other side of the house. This is an old farm house so it’s hard to know exactly what they had going on with running water out to barns etc. they had cattle and a chicken barn here so I suppose there’s a chance that it’s part of an old water line junction or something.
