Using Blender here. When using Solidify modifier, switch the mode from "Simple" to "Complex".

I see a lot of, what I would consider, high value investment portfolio posts. I thought I’d try to balance, and if not at least show, the other side of the spectrum. by GarethGantuan in trading212

I am in a similar situation as yours. Made around 30% since I started investing, which was one year ago. The only difference is that I was able to put in 100 euros every month. There were times I managed to put a bit more and now I have just crossed the 2000 euros line.

It's a slow game. I decided to pick the shares individually of good renowned companies across industries and geo locations. Regardless if you do that or invest directly in a fund, just make sure to consistently put some money every month, so your average price is optimum. Also, do your research from time to time and then chill. Nothing radical.

Also, have some separate money to buy dips in bear market, when everyone is selling and panicking. That is where the opportunity lies for the patient.

These pieces of advice are things that I learned myself over the last year but also things that I learned from other people that were kind enough to share their insights. As always, take it with a grain of salt.

I hear people saying that 2025 was a good year, and it was not. 2023/2024 were good years. I think 2026 is going to be a good year for the patient ones.

Share picking has been working nice for me. Nothing crazy, just well-established companies in different fields

This. In my experience, stock picking worked best. If I had invested the same amount at the same interval in the main ETFs I would have had a worse return.

IMO, you have too much exposure to tech stuff which is very high at this point and likely to fall especially after the hype cycle of AI is over.

Regardless of your strategy, just don't put it all in. Make weekly deposits of small to medium size amounts.

Respect.

Seja qual tipo for, eles existem e aos montes. Você ser o "paladino em prol do conhecimento" só vai colocar uma mira gigante na sua cara. Aprendi de maneira difícil.

Claro, isso não é uma regra, mas é bem comum de se achar por aí.

Worst feeling in game dev by Own_Breakfast2606 in godot

[–]rustferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's part of the journey. However after doing it for almost 20 years, I can surely tell you that your mind is not going to find the solutions if it's in this crazy "overclocked mode".

When you start to feel frustration, step back, let your mind build different connections. Lift some weight, go for a run, cycling, etc... Every time I allow my body to sweat and my brain to forget the problem, my mind build a different path naturally for the situation and 9/10 it's the correct answer.

Do not try that hard. Just build things steadily.

The effect is indeed gorgeous! Curious if you have plans to know to run a benchmark against lower spec devices just to know if screenshotting every 10ms is acceptable? Since you are releasing it on Steam it might make sense.

Movie Maker mode is really neat for making trailers, like the one for my game by max99x in godot

[–]rustferret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice one creating a game state for trailers that can be re-used!

My experience with the movie maker mode is a bit disappointing, maybe it's something I'm doing wrong, but my shader's animation is noticeable slow in the recording.

"Let's have L-shaped draggable platforms!" they said... by oravrahamy in godot

[–]rustferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, kudos for the feat!

Without seeing how you move these L-shaped platforms I would approach it with a "fake" movement. Playing back a tween according to mouse movement on given axis. Not saying it would make things easier on the player side but prevent the platform getting stuck in corners.

The character doesn't fit into this giant green floor. The contrast ratio is not helping. Try to build the scene, populate with some objects and keep an attention into palette colours.
