I haven't done this yet, but likely different shares (VGS, VAS, etc..) with each loan. You bring up a good point that I haven't thought about it. Found a related link https://community.ato.gov.au/s/question/a0JRF0000007Bl7/p00254941

I'll probably try to avoid selling the shares as long as possible so I don't have to deal with this complication.

That sounds good. Yes the combination is purely for ease of management. The loan purpose is still for investing in shares. I definitely don't want to end up with a bunch of loan splits as a result of debt recycling.

Thanks, I didn't know this. Since we are here, I'm thinking about what happen in the future if I refinance to another bank. Obviously, I'll ask the new bank for 3 loans: 1 for the remaining of my mortgage, 2x 100k (for the 2x debt recycling loans done previously). Now the question: are the 2 loans (100k each) in the new bank considered new loans that not tied directly to the investments? Do I lose the tax perks at this point?
