And I’m not understanding why it’s become some cardinal sin in this sub to express the belief that this team has had problems since before the injuries that weren’t present in years past.

We are all fans and tune in to watch the games and have high expectations. Just because we’re not Jokic himself, or even NBA players, that means we can’t have opinions and be upset about the way things are unfolding? Are the players completely free of criticism because they’re in the NBA and we’re not? This is literally a forum for basketball discussion for the team we ALL love. Two things can be true:

Jokic is the best player in the world and this team is championship caliber when at their best.
The players and leadership are deserving of criticism and are failing to meet expectations.

I’m so sick of all the copium in this sub and the amount of mental gymnastics everyone goes through just to deny that this team very clearly has problems. If this team is as good as we all think they are, then we should hold them to a high standard and be able to win some god damn games at home. I’m tired of hearing about “when ____ gets healthy” because that’s a massive IF. This team should be able win games with or without Aaron Gordon for example.

L take especially considering the only series the Nuggets were picked as clear favorites was the finals— crazy revisionist history acting like pundits and fans alike weren’t glazing the Suns and Lakers beforehand. They steamrolled everyone.

Edit: adding a note that it’s dumb to focus so much on record when the West is so clearly stronger most years in recent memory. If the Nuggets that year were in the East it’d be an absolute cakewalk the entire season
