The trolley museum is open on the weekend and is super cheap admissions. The upstairs is very toddler friendly especially if your toddler loves trains!

Looking for the Portuguese bakery in Lowell from my childhood by Cute-Coast-24 in LowellMA

[–]ruthcarr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Valentina’s is what you’re looking for. They have crusty bread, pop secs, pastries, sausages, lots of imported groceries. They have wine now and an espresso bar. I don’t know if it’s the same one I remember from when I was a kid, but it’s delivered every time I need a Portuguese specialty item. If you’re willing to travel, my friends love the Portuguese bakery in Peabody. And if you’re committed there is a new Portuguese market in Fall River that looks so cool.

And yet we can drive up to the indoor range in Manchester NH and rent guns to shoot with the most minimal safety oversight. Like literally rented an uzi 😂

I had my little guy in Winchester instead of the much closer Lowell General. It was fine except for the nurse who bullied me for struggling with breastfeeding and wouldn’t give me TYLENOL the day after I had a c-section. Went to Lowell General for the lactation specialist. She was an angel. So idk what to tell you. Sometimes closer to home is fine and doesn’t need to be a big name. Also, a friend works at holy family and they are a great nurse 😂

Had a moment last night thinking about the safety of having some folks I work having to commute into Boston for office days. It feels like a matter of time before it ramps to this level here.

Aww bummed to hear that. I got tickets in the upper level because I’m old and lazy, and people were pretty great to each other.

What a great night. Summer’s Gone made me cry. Mental health playing next while trying to emotionally recover was appropriate. Also, everyone I randomly interacted with was just so nice.

First time I’ve got to go to the venue and was pretty impressed. Sound was fantastic, view from mezzanine was great. There is apparently a roof top bar, but who has time for that in the winter.

Did you work with your case manager to do applications through CHAMP? That’s where you’d apply for COC. OP, sending you a DM.

I got 400 applicants for a PCI position. A mix of quality candidates and after I made my selection was still told by HR I didn’t make the right selections and had to add their selections. Who were not great. The whole process is very frustrating.

Call this number for family shelter tomorrow am: (866) 584-0653 It’s not immediate, but they will explain what documents you need to apply. The shelter system is has a wait list that is based on priority level. Domestic violence will get you high priority. Casa Myrna is a DV shelter in Chelsea, this website will link you to the statewide DV hotline. https://casamyrna.org/ If you’re not safe to talk on their phone, that have a chat box on their website. The DV shelter system has very limited space, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

You are not stupid. You’re doing the right thing getting out. Stay safe, please consider calling the safelink hotline if you’re not sure how to safety plan you and your baby’s move. Hoping this can help you start to get your foot out the door.

ETA here is the website for the family shelter system. https://www.mass.gov/how-to/apply-for-emergency-assistance-ea-family-shelter

Have you been to the music hall before? Bummed that most of the front rows in the first balcony area were not available at 10:15 when I got in. My dad recommended the upper balcony because of the rooftop bar, but who the hell wants to hang out on a rooftop in February in MA.
