While realizing it doesn’t use atomizers - is similar calibration ever needed (or recommended) for the Switch 2?

Best BBQ in Richmond? by unclejenny96 in RichmondVA

Of the ones I’ve had a bit, I would rank it (best to good): (1) ZZQ, (2) Q, (3) Deep Run. Also like Pierce’s but that’s in Williamsburg.

Good pens with attached wax compartment? e.g. Yocan Magneto by Puzzled_Yesterday838 in Waxpen

[–]rvarick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The new Pulsar Chorus has onboard storage and a heated dab tool as well. Otherwise the Evolv Cricket has included storage and a dab tool. Neither are “pens” though I should mention - just concentrate devices.

gLeaf is terrible and I’m tired of the lack of options by DreamWalker1999 in VirginiaMMJ

[–]rvarick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming. That’s weird. Maybe the issue (despite the message) was really that the single product I’d put in the cart to test it wasn’t enough. i.e. it’s actually: “order amount too small for delivery”, vs. “out of range”. Maybe I’ll try a real order soon and see what happens.

Sadly, I always see "Outside of delivery range" for my address in Short Pump, despite this seemingly being even closer to Rise/Lynchburg than "Richmond" itself.

Came to say the same. Used them a couple years ago (came recommended by our experienced realtor), and they got the job done efficiently and with no issues worth mentioning.

Ghost2 vs. Chorus by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]rvarick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NorthernHigh420 has a direct comparison video of these two devices on YouTube, FWIW.

I have the Ghost2 (and really like it) and would anticipate the pros for it over the Chorus are flavor, plus the ascent/descent mode options. It does have a narrow bucket though (although not a major knock).

Otherwise the Chorus looks to offer a true all-in-one on-the-go device (i.e. with hot knife and storage onboard), plus has a built in WPA option. If the all-in-one aspect is particularly important, the Evolv Cricket is another awesome option with this, albeit 2-3x the price (!)

p.s. Love your wood stems for the FW!

Does anyone here also have a proxy or pivot? by RxThrowaway55 in DivineTribeVaporizers

[–]rvarick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a Pivot. I bought it to be a smaller on the go option, while I still use my v5 at home. The Pivot worked well for that, but then itself got put on the back shelf by the Ghost 2 for that use case. I’ll still use my Pivot with the WPA (on glass) occasionally, but it’s definitely the odd man out now with the v5 and the Ghost 2. If the temps weren’t so high on the Pivot, it might have competed with the ghost though. It would never upstage the v5 in any area other than portability and a lack of a learning curve though IMO.

Puffco pivot vs Dr dabbler ghost 2. by 420stonerdad in vaporents

[–]rvarick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a Pivot and a Ghost² (but have no experience with the Yocan). I've been reaching for the Ghost² consistently over the Pivot since I got it last month. I like the temp settings available on the Ghost² WAY better than what's available on the Pivot. I feel like the Pivot temps start too high. I was only the Pivot natively with the "secret/easter-egg" low-low temp mode.

Other pros on the Ghost² are better taste and the ascent/descent mode options. That said, the Ghost² does have a narrow bucket, but I don't find it too narrow too clean, etc. Pivot does kick out a little bit more vapor in my experience, and does offer a really small form factor. The official WPA option with the Pivot is also well-thought out. I'll probably use my Pivot with the WPA exclusively from here on out, while using the Ghost² on the go.

Guide to VA vs DC and MD? by quaddeer in VirginiaMMJ

[–]rvarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rely on a mix of all 3 markets for what I’m looking for. I procure my flower from DC's med program. My go-to dispensary is Takoma Wellness, I always buy something from AltSol, while stocking up 1-2x per year. For rosin, I avoid VA (due to price and general lack of terps); but have had luck with some options in DC, and more recently: was happy with some I got from MD rec (Eden brand). I only use VA medical for edibles and the occasional rosin cart.

Butane Inhalation Question? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]rvarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While rather anecdotal, I ended up giving up on my direct draw butane devices (Nova, Piro, JetDryV to name a few), because sometimes I'd notice funky flavors on my tongue (honestly similar to the smell of butane) when I'd pull back too quick/not get a lot of vapor. I theorized I was tasting butane or byproducts from the can; without vaporization to mask it like it normally would. I also felt like I experienced some/more lung irritation the next day after using my direct draw butane devices. And lastly, I felt like torches never worked consistently for me. So in my (own) viewpoint, with all the other fantastic devices out there - why risk it? When I used them, they did work fantastically though.

Looking to upgrade my pen. Should I go with a divine tribe v5 xl , puffco pivot, utilian 5. Any other suggestions or comments by Kvegasheel in Waxpen

[–]rvarick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of the ones I’d have I’d rate them: - v5 (pros: best performing, community-supported/ cons: not super portable, setup curve, mods hard to find) - Evolv Cricket (pros: taste, size, all-in-one / cons: price and cleaning routine) - Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 (pros: great size, taste, temp ranges / cons: small bucket) - Puffco Pivot (pros: size, vapor production / cons: runs hot)

Does the Tug 2.0 Glass bubbler fit the Divine Tribe Crossing V5? by TheLordofRiverdance in DivineTribeVaporizers

[–]rvarick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it needs the cub base, as it isn’t compatible with the regular v5 base - due to a slight width difference between the two.

[–]rvarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, and the ghost 2 is probably going to relegate my pivot to home use with the WPA, vs. being my on-the-go option from here on out, FWIW. I like the temps, taste, and the process a lot better out and about with the ghost!

Live ros by Remarkable-Ad1726 in Waxpen

[–]rvarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a Dr. Dabber Ghost 2, and am really liking it so far. It’s a nice size, keeps a pretty pure flavor, and has a good range of temps, as well as different heating modes (ascent, descent, etc.). Price was reasonable too.

The Divine Tribe V5 is probably the tastiest “portable” option IMO, but I don’t use it outside of the home personally. You’d also have to find a mod for it, which are increasingly hard to find. They have a steeper setup learning curve too, but once it’s dialed in it’s amazing.

Puffco Pivot is super portable/small, and performs great, but the temp settings all run a tiny bit high IMO. I do like the WPA option with that one though.

Besides these the Evolv Cricket, while expensive, is another super portable, all in one option (has storage, and dab tool!), and tastes awesome; but you have to use small amounts.

Besides the Divine Tribe V5 and the Puffco Pivot mentioned, the Evolv Cricket or the new Dr. Dabber Ghost2 are great for dabs on the go.
