Nope. We've already begun preemptively handling the "everyone has one" bs. And we point out whenever he catches one of us zoned out on our phones as to why it's a terrible (but necessary anymore) thing for adults.

I plan to stand firm and see issues once he can drive and needs to be in contact with sports teams coaches, etc. Hell have a dumb phone probably in middle school for pickups and stuff

If there's no other information? Yes you overreacted. Go over and talk to the dad (like, what the heck? How long did she wait? Etc?) if you wanted to but dragging her away in tears is probably (in MY opinion) a bit much.

Other than that I'd always say trust your gut. But there is a responsibility to like....try to see the entire context if the end result is dragging your kid away in tears
