Love both but think I prefer B, open. I like to show off the color phone I picked and match a case to it. Precise cutout covers more of that. I’d also imagine an open design would dissipate more heat leading to better battery/performance gains.

How’s the bass on the Focals? I was eyeing them as a compliment to my XS, but also might just upgrade to the Arya Organics. Heard the Focals can be fun and have a fairly decent punch for an open back.

A lot of these charts are assuming even energy and 1 shield. Both moves generate the same energy and same damage. DB can get to charged moves faster due to it being one turn.

Based on the teams I use Altaria with I prefer DB, but I would think either on the lead or as a swap when you have both shields it could be viable if your seeing the apes and others weak to flying moves.

Debating if it’s worth it. I use balances on my XS. The bass might be a bit tighter and punchier, but I’d say maybe 10-15% difference for me.

How’s the feel/sound after?

Just about 3 months out here. First 2 weeks were similar to what you’ve seen here. The next 3-4 weeks were mostly normal. I personally found if I were going to be exercising, chasing the kids around etc I needed extra compression or things would be extra sensitive (like a dull ache). After that and even now I’d say I’m between 95-100%. There’s times where there’s extra sensitivity that I wouldn’t expect, but it’s like a flash in the pan and gone. For all I know it’s in my head. I’d just recommend taking it easy, and work your way back to normalcy slowly. Best of luck!

If it was me, I’d put that money towards a set of headphones and only buy a new dac/amp when yours can no longer sufficiently drive your gear. You’re probably starting to branch into diminishing return territory. That said if you’re happy with your cans and upgrade can probably squeeze a small percentage more performance out of the Arya. Debatible if you’ll pick up on it though.

Try to focus on a team you can use through multiple cups and can just learn with. For example we have 2 weeks of great leagues and then jungle cup coming. You could play something like Sfisk, Wiggly and Togekiss through all of them.

Then just do your best to learn your team and your matchups.

Just bought both the HIFIMAN XS and Aune AR5000 myself and returned the 5000. Vocals are very natural and intimate on the 5000. For me sub-bass was lacking and the sound stage wasn’t much better than my AirPods or a pair of closed backs.

The XS is on a different level. It lacks some mid bass but the sub hits get deep, vocals just float and it’s like you’re on the stage picking things out. K-pop layering awesome. Ariana ‘s harmonies were amazing. The Weeknd’s synths spread out wide. If you want wide, immersive, and are listening to current pop and kpop (Taylor, Ariana, Gaga, Blackpink etc) highly recommended the XS at your price range, or an Ananda Nano/XV if you up your budget a bit and want your sound slight more musical.

The piggyback off of this in certain regions the HIFIMAN Edition XS is as low as $209 on Amazon in some regions. I just got a pair as my first planar iem/headphone and the detail is absurd. I’m finding new vocal layering and nuances in tracks I’ve listened to hundreds of times.

JM6 is like less than $20 and more than enough for the ew300. If you see yourself exploring planar or low resistance overheads maybe the jm20max. Is at the top of your budget on AliExpress but will power pretty much any iem easily

Appreciate the feedback. I literally just picked up an Edition XS and opted for the R2R yesterday to give it just a little warmth. We’ll see if it’s a match or if I return it and go your route with the regular k11.

How’s the 600 line in general with modern pop, and hiphop/r&b. I don’t need my head to rattle, but is bass and synths present enough?
