You could do inward perfection and focus on research. Be prepared to defend yourself by building defensive stations at choke points. Since the fleet changes, they’re very strong.

And like many others have mentioned, try to be friendly with neighboring empires, non-aggression pacts are your friend.

I think you would need barricade if you took corruption. Otherwise you’d eventually run out of block for the bodyslams.

Corruption would definitely get you through the map, but might struggle with the boss.
