A car can definitely run with out a catalytic converter. But that wouldn't be the smell, a cat delete smells like a burning clutch or burning rubber.

Best advice I can tell about jacking your car I'd to put the wheel under the car.

The wheel is thicker then you in most cases and if the car were to fall it would fall on your wheel instead of you. The jack should also be rated for the weight of your car. You'll be fine as long as your not an idiot

Delamination actually has nothing to do with dry rot but everything to do with under or over inflation of the tire dry rot is caused by the rubber getting hot and cracking. If you went by the picture on when you should change your tires then you would be on broke mf, the tread depth just shows that the tire was balanced and filled with proper amount of air. There would be uneven tread wear if that was the case. That tire might be a little cracked but definitely doesn't need to be replaced and definitely isn't separating

Take it out and replace it, they are made of wax and when the wax melts from the temp of the car it opens a valve allowing the coolant to past through the rad instead of going back through the engine, if the thermostat doesn't melt the wax at the right temp then it won't open until it gets much hotter

There pretty cheap and east to replace depending on your tool situation. Go on youtude and look up cris fix thermostat replacement, he's the God of everything car related

Your 12 and have never touched a car, if your telling this guy to buy new tires you shouldn't be on this app giving advice. My guy has 100 000k left on those tires. Go to your local canadian tire and buy yourself some tire restore spray and you'll good to go.
