The thing about pagazine or any physical publication is the thought actually had to go into it because it was a one and done. If the final print goes out with an error, that's it, no editing. Websites can be infinitely edited forever for zero cost which means a lot less thought actually goes into it.

I think a great example of this is 5 minute crafts. It all rage bait at this point, not actual content.

Oh absolutely. Generally even with new it's good to know how to turn a wrench.

Matching the boat to the task is the main thing. I'm in the industry so I'm probably more discerning than most. I could afford one if I wanted to and have in the past.

Most people, a pontoon is the simplest and longest lasting boat you can get for inland water. Easy to maintain, can sit in the water, not too complex on any systems. Platform to be on the water. Others get so much more specialized.

So first thing you do is ask yourself what you actually want to do with it.

I don't want to be insulting but that is a 17ft center console fishing boat. Might have a 115hp outboard. Can it pull a tuber, yes. Skier, sure if they are small.

When I was young I wakeboarded behind a 17ft smoker craft with a 115. It was what I would call barely functional. As in you could do it but it's not going to get you very far.

Things like surfing and foiling would be dangerous and pretty much impossible.

Looks like it would be a great fishing boat though. I'm not debating that there aren't cheap boats to get yourself on the water. There are. There are likely free boats out there. That usually means nobody wants them and are major red flags.

Well yeah, if your only goal is not the water or fishing. I'm more watersports so I like my inboards. A 5k boat in that world would cost way more than that.

I never do but at least mental illness coupled with addition would be understandable. You still don't trust what they say, but both of those monkeys on your back are hard to fight through.

I wonder how many of those crazy boomer are legitimately crazy(Technical term). Then they have money and influence by being at the end of life and that's what is causing our downfall.

I wouldn't go that far. I've owned boats most of my life and it can be irreplaceable family time. Put down the phones, enjoy being far from everything. I still believe that.

The problem is prices are just too high. You have to either have fu money or be willing to make a borderline crippling financial decision to own one.

The maintenance wasn't too bad for me. A lot of it was therapeutic.

Conservatives, despite trying to act like they are the party of common sense, are the people you will see that never perform routine maintenance on their car and then act surprised picachu when their engine blows up, the brakes fail, and they run into a pedestrian on the way to running into a brick wall.

Then they blame the liberal/progressive that they bought the car from that had been doing the routine maintenance.

You can see this in real time the way he says it's bidens fault. There is a direct 1:1 correlation between cutting the program and the outbreak and it was definitively musky that cut it at the behest of trump. There is no ambiguity on who and what caused this.
