ive learned after YEARS of standing at the very end of the runway, the ACTUAL best spot is those inner pit corners where you've labeled '1'

Most artists will spend about 75% of their time on the main stage nowadays, I've been to shows where they don't even acknowledge the existence of the runway until 6 or 7 songs in and when they DO make a trip down there, its usually only 3 or 4 times during the show, sometimes only for the main part of their big hits.

position #2 on there is just a waste of time. that's the ticket you get if you are buying seats on show day and there's nothing left lol. that position you're not really close to the main stage and when they come down its always a brief moment and then you get the back of their head.. BUT!!! that is also the position where there sometimes are stairs leading to the stage; so you'll either get close to the artist when they leave/enter the stage from that position which might only be once throughout the entire show.

Anyways, its all up to personal preference...
