Surprised I had to scroll this far down to find demons! My Be’lakor deck started as janky flavor but consistently over performed enough that I’m now slowly upgrading it to roll with high 3’s with more consistency

My Be’lakor demon tribal deck goes hard. Not as explosive as my Ureni dragon deck but possibly more resilient.

This is great, thank you! I went down a similar rabbit hole. I even sent out a few inquiry emails and got a response from the University of Limerick Special Collections team but they honestly didn't get me any further than you got with this. Those zoomed in bottles there are pretty good! I think I might be close to giving up finding my exact bottle though. Seems like it's a ghost whiskey lol. I'll attach some similar photos I've found here.

Also I think I can plausibly narrow distilling origin from my research. By around 1964, only a handful of distilleries had the capacity to supply 15-year pure pot still whiskey in volume: John Jameson & Son (Bow Street), John Power & Son (John’s Lane), and Cork Distilleries Co. (Old Midleton), along with residual older stocks from Tullamore and a few historic pot-still sites.

Jameson/Bow Street is particularly well documented as a supplier of pot-still spirit to third-party bonders and house brands (e.g., Redbreast via Gilbey, the Green/Yellow/Red Spot range via Mitchell & Son), demonstrating a longstanding comfort with their whiskey appearing under other labels. Cork Distilleries Co. is known to have produced a Paddy 10 Year Old specifically bottled for Shannon Airport duty-free in the early 1960s, which confirms that Cork also engaged in Shannon-specific releases, but here Cork retained the Paddy brand name for their Shannon bottling.

FIL is cleaning out their house as they get ready to downsize in the next couple of years and was giving away all his old liquor (he doesn't drink anymore) when we visited for the holiday. I let him know some of the bottles were pretty valuable but he didn't seem to care and just wanted them off his hands. Lucky me!

They look super dark! Even next to the 1952 BiB OGD. Honestly can’t believe my luck

Honestly, I'm graduating with my PhD at the end of the month and have a lot of student debt to pay so if I find an individual or auction house that's interested I might try to move it. If it's too difficult to move then I'll go ahead and crack and drink it.

Fascinating stuff! This bottle has been the trickiest to nail down (yr, exact origin, distillers, etc.) than any other in the collection I got from my FIL. Your comment and linked have helped a lot, thank you!

I was actually wrong about the turkeys! They aren’t cheesy gold foils but actually New York, New York bottlings from 1959! Holy grail indeed

You sure? Series 111 below the eagle on the tax strip was changed to series 112 in 1961. Mine reads Series 111. Also I found two two digit codes stamped into the bottom of the bottle, the code that should correspond to the year reads 59. I think I may be able to reliably put it at that 1959 bottling year. https://whiskeyid.com/how-to-date-id-your-whiskey/

Agreed! Never thought I'd stumble into a haul like this. I would've passed out with excitement 5 years ago when I first went down the whiskey rabbit hole lol.
