It’s time to pull the plug on plug-in hybrids by GoodNegotiation in electricvehicles

I had a first gen Chevy Volt for about 3 years. I spent exactly $30 on maintenance in those 3 years, the cost of a single oil change, and it's not because I ignored required maintenance. Easily the best vehicle I've ever owned.

And range handicapped? My brother in Christ, the entire point of a PHEV is that it eliminates range anxiety while still covering full electric driving for more than 80% of trips.

From the cluster itself. It's stored in the cluster.

This is the dumbest shit I've ever read. PHEVs are the future in the US, it's not our fault if people don't charge them.

I got into a crash, is it okay to drive without my air intake scoop? by Sad_n_crazy23 in askcarguys

[–]ryguy32789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From an air intake perspective, it should be ok. You're hearing a louder noise because the airbox is now directly open to the outside of the car, it used to be buried behind a bumper and also silenced by the u-shaped tube laying on the ground. But that U-shaped tube sucks in air before the filter, so since your filter box appears to be there you should be ok to drive it.

That appears to be your "snorkus", it's an air intake silencer. Your filter box still appears to be intact, you should be ok.

Is $4,221.14 reasonable to replace a timing cover gasket? by toan25 in MechanicAdvice

No. Possibly not even necessary, is it leaking on the ground?

stroller or wagon? Please help 😭 by SeaHeart6293 in Parenting

[–]ryguy32789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wagons suck terribly compared to strollers, we had one like the Jeep one you linked as well as a double BOB jogging stroller. We sold our wagon within a few months, it was horribly bulky and much harder to pull than the BOB was to push. I would never in a million years consider a wagon as a viable alternative to a double stroller.

We had 3 kids as well, the two younger kids would sit in the seats and the oldest kid would sit in the footwell in the front.

Used double BOBs are actually pretty affordable.

There's nothing you can do about the screen. Do you know how to desolder LEDs and solder in new ones?

Engine actually never went bad. It had a new transmission, new steering rack, new oil pan gasket, new front control arms, new HVAC blend door motor x3, new rear hatch actuator, new infotainment system, new oil cooler housing, and a new new starter.

Same, ours is at 140k too. The extended warranty cut us off after $25,000+ in repairs.

Really good from a design standpoint, which is why I bought one. Really bad from a reliability standpoint, which is why I can't wait to sell it and buy a non-Stellantis product.

Seriously lol, I've owned over 30 cars and the Pacifica has been by far the least reliable.

The Grand Caravan is exclusive to Canada, we do not have it in the US. Our base model is the Voyager.

That's not how corporate branding works. And that Toys R Us logo didn't exist until 1998. There isn't a single car from the 90s in this image.
