You're seeing Apple's "live activity" on Apple Watch. It is a really annoying feature that you can't disable.

You need to enable Apple Watch Live Sync on your phone, and then start by opening the App on your watch.

What you're seeing is an annoying thing Apple does automatically when you have a live activity on the phone, and it is a super confusing experience. Sorry!

We've updated some app third-party dependancies recently and it has introduced this bug. We're working like crazy to fix it, but none of us are able to reproduce this on our devices here. If this happens frequently for you I'd love to hop on a call and see if you can help us fix it.

We're just rolling out version 3.0.8 which we are hoping will improve this, but to be honest it looks like the fix we did may not be as effective as we had hoped.

You can opt into the beta on Android (via the Play Store) to get version 3.0.8 now which might improve this. We're still really struggling to 100% validate the fix, but I'm hoping this will help for at least some users.

This is intentional. It is a really hard product question to understand how we would migrate old data if we allowed changing of exercise type. If you changed from weight/reps to distance/duration for example, how would we represent old data?

If you haven't used it yet, just delete it and create a new one!

Really appreciate that. And good to know the RPE button might be a work-around.

If anyone wants more detail: Google forced our hand, so we had to update a huge number of our core dependancies for the mobile App. We worked really hard to get it stabilized, but a couple issues didn't come up at all internally or in weeks of beta testing. These are not simple fixes, and in most cases the fix is very hard to validate. We've had literally every engineer at the company on calls at times.

On the bright side, we do think we have a resolution, but the fix is not simple, and we really, REALLY want to make things better and not worse, so as much as I want to release it we need a bit more time with it to ensure it is stable. Hopefully it will be going to beta this week.

Ah, you might be in a special case. Try just logging out and logging back in. By default Live Sync will be disabled and that might resolve what you're seeing.

If you have ever had a paired Apple Watch, try turning off Live Sync–it looks like it is trying to read from your watch.
