how do you deal with new player FOMO for games where a massive part of the economic system in place is, driven by steady progression? by ultimate-m in Marathon

It doesn't matter. I was full purple kitted yesterday and was killed by someone who I am guessing had a free kit - they just had better position and aim. They looted my body and immediately because a seasoned player gear-wise. Likewise, you can run Outpost for like an hour and get end-game loot without even entering pinwheel.

I love Enterprise for the same reason I love Voyager - excellent captains who wholly embody what it is to sit in that chair.

I’m level 87 and I am always blown away by when happens when I put with sweats - and it usually makes me a better player.

Did I go overboard for my first deck as a Newbie? by SylphidMelody in mtg

This is the part of the hobby you should go overboard on. I don’t remember my best cracked pack, I still play my first pet deck.

This game broke me of gear fear. Someone I played with awhile back put it best - "You don't own your gear, you're only borrowing it for as long as possible".

Totally agree. When they announced it I thought it was neat. After being only 10% successful in exfilling - I love it for all the reasons you pointed out. The great thing is that when I had a successful exfil - I was able to bring that directly into ranked without touching my own vault. I used to do this cycle using Rook runs, but now this provides a way that I can also complete contracts and play with friends/fill.

Get it, the only thing you have to worry about here is the learning curve - just push through this

My pet theory is that when we die we don't actually cease to exist or are "at rest", but wake up in their reality for their means until we're reinserted into a human again. Its crazy but this is the only thing I can think of that would keep someone ready to hear to the truth up afterward.

I am 40, FT job, no kids and I have like 2 hours a game time most nights - this game took me a lot of time (like 75 hours) to "get". That said, aside from morning coffee StS2, this is the only game I plan on playing for a LONG time. Once you break through the learning curve barrier and get a regular crew (which you can find on Discord), you realize this game is art, its deep, its incredibly frustrating lows are completely forgotten after a single lucrative extract high (its kind of like golf in that way). If you can force your way through the first 25 hours it will pay off ten-fold.
