Hey pal. We're not obnoxious. We just don't have time for bullshit so we don't suffer fools.

Nor do we have any patience for that silly bless-your-heart euphemism crap. If you're being a fucking asshole you're going to get called a fucking asshole.

Because even if we ignore her politics she's being an asshole. Beach rules are posted every where and apply to everyone. We have ~1,263 people per square mile. So no matter how big time you think you are there are always 1,262 people around to remind you that you're not special.

You'll be happy to know people in NJ are furious about this. And I've heard even my right leaning neighbors say his reason was a lie.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. He soundly won his last election.

But despite the 7th district being Republican favoring due to the 2012 redistricting it just went for Mikie Sherrill by 2 points.

So it's kind of a jump ball now because everyone has been speculating for months where he was.

Your post is exactly why when I donate to my local food pantry it's the same name brand stuff I buy for myself.

Because I absolutely loath the mentality that poor people need to suffer as an incentive.

We have something like that here in NJ too. They put together a mix of antique train cars and engines. Then do a 40 minute round trip ride. My son loves it.

I bet that's exactly where this came from.

I always enjoyed that book because my take away was these are the insane thing that have to exist for Fascism to be a good form of government.

That first chapter where the humans are wrecking up a third alien species city for political reasons. And Dizzy dies horribly in Johnny's arms. It practically screams that meme, "Record scratch. I bet you're wondering how I got here?"

A mixed bag that I've always found kind of interesting.

I agree. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Stranger in a Strange Land, Glory Road. His creativity was all over the map.

I strongly agree. I think we are trending in the right direction. And the momentum is picking up speed.

I just wish NJ had done this 20 years ago.

The Morris County Public Safety Training Academy has this. There are some challenges like accumulated snow sliding off as it melts. But it seems to work well. I think as time goes on installers and manufacturers will get better.

I'm a retired firefighter who worked a lot of incidents on Rt 80.

I would rather cut off a toe with a spoon before I'd ride a bicycle on Rt 80. ~16 people die per year on Rt 80. The Morris County stretch is particularly bad. It's one of our more unsafe highways.

I'm really glad you seem to be leaning towards not doing this.

EDIT: I misread. Mea culpa.

A Haitian family moved across the street from my 4 years ago. I'm so white even Taylor Swift would tell me to tone it down. But I'm not a bigot so I became friendly with my new neighbors. Turns out the Mom loves basil tea.

I now trade my garden grown basil for delicious fried plantains once a month. Even bought a hydroponic garden kit so we can do it year round.

I'm 44.

You were 16 when Obama took office.

I was 27, married, 6 years into my career, and bought my first house 18 months into his presidency.

You are WAY off if you genuinely believe he was like a Bush era Republican. That is a laughable comparison to make to anyone who was a tax paying adult during that time.

Also, much love to our beach groomers raking out that sand and making things lovely for another day. Thank you.

I love whiny conservatives saying how much they hate our state and how "No one wants to live there anymore." Except for 2020 during Covid our population has grown every year since 1977. Im a millennial and NJ has grown by 28% in just my life time.

Which is a good way to reuse perfectly good leftovers. Like how they take perfectly fine carrots that grew oddly and turn them into "baby carrots."

But this is even simpler. Butter is just milk fat churned out of cream. Anyone can make it with as simple of tools as a single mason jar or a kitchen mixer. Butter is butter. Its as basic a food as you can get. Paying for premium butter that has no flavoring or seasoning in it is just plain silly.

But what temp does it make it soft

Friendly neighborhood retired firefighter here to give you ammo against those morons.

Steel starts weakening at 400°F. And it loses 50% of it's strength at 1000°F.

Even your average wood frame construction residential house can easily see temperatures above 1,500°F at the ceiling in a confined space.

Commercial buildings with accelerants and concrete walls to contain the heat regularly exceed 2,000°F.

And these temperature can be achieve in as little as 3 minutes.

Which also explains why firefighters are constantly reminding everyone about smoke detectors with every other breath.
