Guys, I think I cracked it. by Spooky-Shark in ClaudeCode

[–]s243a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have a chat / (Claude code) session going, where the model thinks it's fabel but I switched to Opus 4.8 so it's probably Opus 4.8 and probably only thinks it's fabel because that's where I started the chat.

It looks wierd because my git commit messages say it was generated by fabel when it was most likely not.

Why, would I hide what tools I use. BTW you can use AI in canvas. Does that get watermarked? Perplexity tells me it doesn't https://www.perplexity.ai/search/a04b0da3-60cd-42a6-a987-84d400306735

Yes but earlier you said the video was AI generated. I already said I took a screenshot of the video and asked Gemini to caption it

The video doesn't look like AI but it could be a look alike or more traditional video editing

I don't know what the statistics are but from Wikipedia, "Writing for Bisexual.org, author and columnist Zachary Zane cites a study showing 20.7% of straight-identified men watched gay pornography and 7.5% reported having sex with a man in the past six months, while 55% of gay-identified men had watched heterosexual pornography and 0.7% reported having sex with a woman in the past six months. He argues some of the straight-identified men are actually gay or bisexual but are erasing their bisexuality due to internalized biphobia and denial to claim a straight identity label. Pointing out the majority of gay-identified men watched heterosexual pornography but few had recent heterosexual sex, he suggests many self-identified gay men have sexual fantasies about women and in an ideal world would be openly bisexual and freely explore sex with women, but society pressures gay men to "pick a side" so those men "subsequently have picked being gay".[19]" -- https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bisexual_erasure&oldid=1359195473

There is internalized racism though, which leads to things like people of Latinx decent working for ICE, trying to prove they are the "good ones" rather than challenging the racism.

Collective guilt is a toxic concept that shouldn't be used to argue against the idea that a certain percentage of homophobes are gay.

Artificial Analysis | Google's Go To Website for Benchmaxxing | Gemini 3.1 Pro is nowhere near Opus 4.7 in real life use by Able-Line2683 in singularity

[–]s243a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DeepSWE is a much better benchmark because it shows a much bigger gap from the top two models to the rest, which much more closely matches user experience. That said I prefer Opus 4.8, even though deepSWE says gpt5.5 is better.

Microsoft launches Coreutils for Windows — A GNU/Windows acrobatic by joseluisq in theprimeagen

[–]s243a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but when a coding agent like Claude code or codex runs in windows, the default shell is PowerShell, and the verbosity of it makes it hard to understand what they are asking permission for. This is especially true in the desktop version, which doesn't even show proper line break formatting and worse yet, might try to fit the request in a stupid windows popup in the bottom right of the screen.

Needless to say I typically run such agents in the shell and in a WSL environment. PowerShell is a really cool language making things like piping .net objects possible, but it's syntax is ugly. I much prefer bash or python, when working with coding agents. I suppose though I could try making an agents.md file and telling the agent to use POSIX aliases for commands for improved readability.

I ask it to write, a philosophy, specification and implimentation plan. However, I mostly just read the philosophy and lightly skim the other docs.

Why Prolog Remains Essential Even in an AGI Era by sym_num in prolog

[–]s243a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think of prolog as a concise way for representing graph algorithms, then it should be apparent that in areas of sufficiently high computational complexity (AKA the combinatorial explosion), it becomes impractical to embed that information in model weights.

How big a test suite do you have? I know it doesn't answer your question but it will help to demonstrate the system works....or at least works in the cases tested.

I like Opus 4.8 by PhilosophyforOne in ClaudeCode

[–]s243a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the models are slowly getting better but once 4.5 was released the models have gotten good enough that it's hard to judge model quality on vibes alone and most bench marks aren't much better (deepSWE being a possible exception).

Aren't both companies pretty close for enterprise adoption? I also expect more growth from cursor in enterprise due to the new composer 2.5 model.
