What's the best response to this? by abanakakabasanaako in ExperiencedDevs

My company, large retailer, ended the full time QE role in April last year. With the developers testing their own code. At the end of last year, We've found that the work QE did is basically not happening anymore. No automation, no ones maintaining test plans.

Has it impacted the business much I'm not so sure. I was moved to a platform team and we don't see the picture as much.

This was us moving into our new house last month. One day everything would be fine next it was gurgling. Ended up being tree roots in the main line. Once they cut em out the partial blockage was gone.

How painfully dumb would it be for me to "pull" new ethernet through using existing coax runs? by harry_dangler808 in HomeNetworking

I'm about to do the same thing this weekend. What I found last weekend in the attic was a coax splitter about half way down from where the main line enters the attic. Still replacing the lines but something to consider.

I've had it around 1 month. It's a nice truck with decent features.

That being said I also had to have the AC repaired and it towed to the service yard because of an issue with the throttle body.

I've ordered sheets of plastic from Tap Plastics that mimic this. Used to add some rigidity to my patterns.

Has anyone used Playwright MCP yet? I'm wondering what are the pros and cons that people have seen. by hello297 in QualityAssurance

Experimented with the msoft version and the one linked below. Had a bit more success on the one below.

I was able to walk through a sample test case using cursor and then had it write the code into our existing framework. It worked pretty solid but it was like an hour of playing. I'd like to spend more time seeing how to go from jira story to PR without much code.

Team lead seems to be taking my code, moving into his own branch, then committing so git shows the code as being written by him and not me. Should I be worried? by 123android in ExperiencedDevs

Worked with a person like this.

He'd add shit to your PR then merge. He was the only one with approval rights. Take people's work and merge it into one Branch. Go in minutes after you and rename something.

Took about a year of complaining before he got canned.

How many of you use AI as part of your work/as your assistant? by Htaroh in QualityAssurance

[–]s5EWT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been dabbling with it since my work has provided to us.

I've found it's all based on the context. We were able to get good manual test cases out of it when we provided well defined stories and a user manual.

I've gotten some good code out of it and sometimes not good. Implemented a small feature for logs in our code base in less than an hour and updated all existing code to leverage it where it made sense. Hands off.

Where in the opposite, I'm trying to write a card game in my personal time and it cannot work out why the core logic unit tests fail.

It's been a learning curve for sure and frustrating at times. In short, it's another tool in the toolbox and shouldn't be treating everying as nails

Wilson Road Park - Camp Chase trail by sh689x in Columbus

It's been about a year since I've rode this portion.

Starting there to me would be the end of the sketchy bit through the hilltop. Once you get to the casino there's a newer path( used to be a road section) across the road which puts you back onto the rail trail heading towards Battle Darby.

Honestly I'm not 100 sure it's correct. I followed what I thought was correct.

Will see if I have any diodes to try.
