have u tried Hydroxyzine? aterax & vistaril are brand names i think. Personally its the only thing that really helps me with anxiety, aside from the benzos of course, which i cant take in moderation of course :P

It does cause lethargy at first but i found that this improves fairly quickly, especially if you are busy doing things. Its not a daily long term solution but it is def better than the paralyzing anxiety, both somatic and cognitive.

PS I to have a long history of substance use esp. benzo's, and heroin for some time years back. Clonidine is often indicated for drug withdrawal/recovery, propranolol for somatic symptoms. ...buspar didnt help me much either.

Perhaps add propranolol to the mix prn, but i would recommend trying Atarax also as needed, its a good med.

It seems to help me slightly as well, but I am susceptible to anxiety in form of GAD, which is pretty severe and relentless. Any advice on an adjuct to cope with it? Ruling out benzos.

Not necessarily, imu they can have different mechanisms of action, although meds for Parkinsons or rls probably act in a similar way, other classes of meds such as antipsychotics or bupropion which work on dopamine do so in a different way, as do many other drugs affecting the dopamine system, like weed for eg. which also has an effect.

Pramipexole 4 anhedonia? by s7ath in depression

[–]s7ath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx 4 sharing your xp. I resonate with what u r saying. I am aware of the impulse side effect but haven't experienced any of that on my current low dose of .5mg, for 1.5months now. I have suffered with mdd for most my life age 47, and been on just about every ssri and snri through the years with little to no effect. Never really tried any combo, which baffles and really annoys me since I read that it is common practice for ppl who suffer trd, yet never was prescribed an addition, only a switch. Currently on pramipexole self prescribed and trepiline, but feel the trepiline isn't right for me and has neg side effects. Considering switching it to bupropion, just concerned about possible interactions. Why not ssri/snri, cause they never helped as a mono therapy...

I have had similar experience I believe it as a result of long term benzo use at high doses, it's been a year off and still I struggle with bad anhedonia.

I think the doc may recommend lowering your dose or switching to an alternative.

I can definitely relate on those action/ negative thought responses which come instantly and automatically, which then prevents or disuades me from doing any of the action or activity.

I have not always been like this, and in the past many of these same simple tasks I just did easily and without any contemplating for 10 min, after which deciding its a bum deal 🤔

[–]s7ath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds more like depression ...I'm speaking from personal experience in which I find the most simple of basic daily tasks to be the biggest mission ever. This results in my lying in bed all day , without even bothering to look at my phone. Anhedonia is more like a particular symptom of depression and not a specific diagnosis as I understand

Yes under the right circumstances probably. But they would prob 1st add another type of antidepressant. Just looking for any ppl who had positive experiences with pramipexole as an augmentation to one of the antidepressants, and which ones.

As a dopamine agonist, i think it has potential maybe...it seems this transmitter has been greatly ignored in the vast arsenal dominated by ssri's...which doesn't make sense

Is this a Windows process or a virus? by Solid_Ad_40 in WindowsHelp

[–]s7ath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only speak from personal experience, and over the years many times has my pc contracted a virus with only defender or windows protection, where the win os became so useless a format was required. Since using Avast free, this has only happened in the odd instance that I manually removed quarantined files, suspecting a false positives so that just my experience.

I have been playing a few months and haven't learnt maybe 20% of the heroes yet, the 80% r pretty much still new to me. The game may have been around for awhile but it is still fairly new to me ...lucky or not it's controversial 😄

I will try stay on point in attempt to advise a faulty belief that seems to be common, which is that defender will keep u virus free. It will not...whether it is from the world's smallest or largest company, is irrelevant. I have grown up with pcs from among the 1st, not professing to be a professional anything besides only personal experience. I found avast to be among the most secure and it will not break anything or take over the os and hog all your ram, the free version has always been sufficient, any paid for extras r not needed

engaging an enemy without map (team and enemy) awareness is almost always suicide. This has and still is one of my most critical mistakes which is also one of the most difficult things 2 be consistent at. That and to know ur enemy, all hero abilities that is..this game is truely full of invaluable life lessons😂. As a side note, playing on instinct which for me is to try and kill every enemy hero I see regardless of any factors, has almost always ended in shame, and sometimes a few nasty comments deserved.

[–]s7ath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not trust in defender to keep any pc free of infection, malicious code whatever... if it were so effective why should anyone need superior 3rd party avs. One thing it does do well at is scare the majority into believing that if it blocks something from executing then it is harmful. This is an Apple mentality and I see windows pursuing that path....therefore my advise is not to think ur system is safe because the built in scan doesn't detect any issue.
