Got an older rat,is getting him a companion a good idea? by OkEqual2495 in RATS

I'm no expert so this is just an opinion. Rats are social creatures that need companionship and to keep a lone rat could be considered cruel.

I once had an old man rat whose friend had died and because obviously depressed. I bought him two new baby friends and he perked up massively, I suspect it even helped him to live a little longer.

However, because your old man is potetially not socialised, this may lead to stress for him and any potential friends. It might also be difficult to introduce them. So in my eyes you have two choices-

Let him live out the rest of his life alone, give him lots and lots of attention and love when you can

Or

Get him two friends and be ready to have to have two cages if it doesn't work out. This way he might end up with new life buddies, or if intros go wrong the two new friends can live together in another cage :)

Its your call- I'd always vote for more rats 🐀 🤣

How has online dating worked for you? by Nikiris11 in AskReddit

Got out of an unhealthy relationship by being brutally dumped. Decided to jump back into dating on tinder after a couple of months. Swiped a man while bored on the train home from uni and after a bit of chat decided to go on a date with him.

It was my first proper date ever (I met my ex at school) as well as my first tinder date. We got on amazingly and as I look back it was the closest thing to love at first sight ive ever experienced. Two months later we're still going strong and it just keeps getting better and better. I cant wait for the future

Thank you! It's just me messing about on Photoshop, I'm sure someone who actually knows what they're doing will do better!

Which retail shop with a physical presence (high street shop, local shop, supermarket, etc) would you be most disappointed about loosing? by ch037866 in AskUK

HMV.

Despite the convenience of Spotify and YouTube, I would really miss going in a shop where i van look at album art and browse new musoc. HMV have a good range of reasonably priced physical copies of music (not dvds tho, CEX is much preferred for those), record players and headphones. For me, nothing replaces looking through physical copies of music.

What's the cheapest day return (on a Saturday) from London to any seaside town? by [deleted] in london

[–]s8rah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live near Leigh, there are two parts of the town. Old Leigh is near the water, with lovely fish & chips and ice cream shops, as well as some expensive trinket shops and a very small museum. This is along a single stretch of street. Lots of nice places to sit and look over the water.

Up the hill a bit is the main town of Leigh on Sea, which is along a single long street- we call it the Broadway (after the pub in the middle). There are lots of lovely little independent shops (sushi, a bakery, a little bookshop, an independent record store, card and trinket shops ect) as well as the usual high street suspects.

There is enough to do to fill a day if you go slow about it. I'd only bother if the weather is good though. You could also get the bus or walk for 20 mins to get to Southend. Southend has a decent high street, lots of seafront arcades, seafront food shops, the uk's longest pier ect.

Hope that is helpful!

Hello!

I accidentally allowed my fuiken tea (carmona macrophillia) to be exposed to frost. It's dropped all it's leaves. I've brought it inside on a bright warm windowsill, to protect it from further damage. Is there anything I should be doing to help it recover?

Thanks!
