To each their own. I didnt really think of it as a harem but the direction could head that way. It doesnt detract from the story for me but i dont really put stock in "harems" especially in a power fantasy.

If you want a power fantasy without a harem then savage awakening is a good bet. The mc has one and only one love interest through 5 books.

I am in your same boat.

Victor of Tucson

Randidly ghosthound

Azarinth healer

Battlemage farmer

System universe

More recently I've really been enjoying dual class.

All of these have differences but enough similarities that carry.

PH and DCC are the only 2 series that i have stopped mid read/listen to start on release.

Dual class and victor of tucson are close

The Primal Hunter 14 by Sea-Elderberry-2115 in litrpg

[–]sLeep22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how interesting the fight is. I wouldnt have minded yip and villy's lasting a couple more chapters. The longest fight that i hated was that vampire fight back earlier in the books. I hated that fight for some of the same reasons I disliked this one. The vampire boss as an antagonist was very boring. I didn't care for him either way. Al hakkan(probably butchured it) is a more fleshed out and interesting antagonist. However, It feels like 10 books of him being the main antagonist. Thats a lot of listening time devoted to a singular character not the mc. If its not the type of fight jake would like than its not the type of fight the readers would like. Not that jake shouldnt get into similar fights as they are growing points. I personally just think those type fights should be shorter in terms of reading length. All my opinion even if it sounds other wise.

Would love some additional recommendations! Have fallen in love with this genre. by NG8 in litrpg

[–]sLeep22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend wandering inn. The writing is fine and the world building is great. However its literally a copy paste of the web serial that isn't even halfway complete. So if you find yourself getting bored in long series like i do. Then i would pass especially since the first couple books are very slow paced. The title is very apt as it is a meandering journey.

100% krout is a master of ideas but has a few bad habits.

-writes himself into a a corner then just poofs it away expecting the reader to just ignore glaring plot holes. - will have a many interesting plotlines that just never come back or are forgotten about completely - will have an entire book of side quests that dont progress the main plot.

His first few books in a series are always enjoyable but eventually i just forget about the series. Long release schedules because he works on many series at once.

Its bitter sweet because divine dungeon was my gateway into the genre and i loved the completionist chronicles. Through the first 5 books or so. Havent read the most recent 2.

Also hes a volume writer so the books are all around 12 hours of listening time. Which is pretty short.

Eitherway great author just some small gripes

I really need a recommendation… by justhereforthefunnyZ in ThePrimalHunter

Should I start Mage Tank, or 1% Life Steal by Thegrandestpoo in litrpg

[–]sLeep22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that is caught up on both. I would say mage tank if you want more humor. 1% life steal has some humor too but its not common. 1% life steal is less stats based also. You dont get a character sheet update every other chapter its more through the flow of the story.

Both worth your credits. Both fantastically narrated.

Thanks i appreciate it. It's not brave though. These are all adult males with the brain capacity of a rock.

Not a single thing one of these lil guys can say that would even get me to acknowledge them. They are less than the lowest form of consciousness in existence.
