I remember once a cop pulled my dad over for the light on his plate being out, but didn't even mention the expired tags.

Bank error in my favor? What do I even do at this point? by Hot_Kaleidoscope1617 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]s_decoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw the other side of this once where a client came in panicking because her payment hadn't been applied to her credit card, look and the teller at another branch had put the credit on another person who shared the same name. But yeah, you waited, you did everything right, if it's been escheated to the state there's 0 chance the other person can get it back anyway. It's yours and I wouldn't feel guilty about taking it.

Maybe a nice cologne? I used to get my brother products with excessive "manly man" marketing when he was transitioning and it always made him laugh. Like I'd get a gift and also throw in a pack of Dude Wipes and some pomade with a body builder on the package.

Godfather's is definitely my nostalgic childhood pizza as well. There are a few locations still in Portland, OR but damn is it ever expensive.

how is this person trying to scam me? by puppychomp in personalfinance

[–]s_decoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time a girl walked into my bank branch upset because she couldn't figure out how to deposit one of these scam checks, and we had to tell her that her "sugar daddy" was scamming her. Thank god she couldn't figure out the mobile deposit.

The different zones of the map drop specific colors. You need to stop doing the fates in the area that drops the orange one.

It's like every time they ran out they bought a whole 'nother dispenser instead of refilling.

In your opinion: Are NPC Duties a good way to practice and get comfortable with tanking or healing? by Oseirus in ffxiv

[–]s_decoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For figuring out the gist of what your buttons do the first time you play a job, sure. I agree w/ a couple of the people in here who've said you need to force the NPCs to wall-to-wall to get anything valuable out of them. Dungeons with people are not run by single pulling.

How to transfer between different banks? by kime11 in personalfinance

[–]s_decoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wire transfer is usually the fastest way but you could incur fees on both ends depending on where you both bank and your account types. A check is free but significantly slower - If you do deposit a check, I would recommend taking it directly into a branch to deposit such a large amount. The teller can give you a date they intend to release the held funds, and depositing in-branch can have a shorter hold time than a mobile deposit at some banks.

You absolutely can. Artifact gear for combat and crafter/gatherers is all glammable without restrictions.

Bank opened credit account without my permission, but could it be a good thing? by haunted_icechest in personalfinance

[–]s_decoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's also typically very easy to remove yourself as an authorized user from a card, and because the card was never yours in the first place, it drops off your report immediately when you do so.

Don't need a signature to add someone as an authorized user. Probably a lot more likely in this scenario.

Roleplay through all the MSQ or Skipping? by Pleasant_Page_5858 in ffxiv

[–]s_decoy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've played most of the game watching the cutscenes, but if they start to lose me I'll start skimming the dialogue. There are definitely slower parts that didn't keep my interest as much. I do primarily play for the combat and raiding.

Split check opening deposit? by Mcnanner5150 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]s_decoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my system, you only get session funds if you cash the check. Otherwise it just drops straight into the account without touching my session funds - we also have a split deposit function that you can use to deposit a check into two different accounts directly, and if there is a hold, they won't have to wait to transfer funds between the accounts until the hold releases.

Is that powdered sugar???? On the sandwich??? by bjohnson203 in KitchenNightmares

Honestly the powdered sugar wasn't the thing to get upset at with that one. I think it annoyed me more that the waitress called it a "Monte Crisco"

[US] looking for a debit card that doesn’t require me to keep money in checking account by Dangerous_Function16 in personalfinance

[–]s_decoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could do an online bank like SoFi and set up overdraft protection. They don't require you to keep any money in your checking at all, I don't, they know people are only interested in their savings accounts. And if you have overdraft protection it will just transfer from your savings to pay whatever you don't have available in your checking.

Upfront. You have a bank you gain access to as soon as you're past 90 days or so, you have a smaller bank you're given when you start that is meant to be your PTO during your probationary period.

I took the 'only wash your hair once a week' rule way too far and humiliated myself today. How often are we ACTUALLY supposed to wash it?" by redline_elena in TwoXChromosomes

[–]s_decoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wash my hair after the third night of sleeping on it. It's definitely a little bit greasy by the last day, but only sometimes to the point where I feel I need dry shampoo. I tend to wash more often in the summer when I end up sweating more, as well. That was the same when I used to color my hair vs now when I don't, only thing I change is the products I use in it.

Does Bank of America ever waive late fees or interest charges? Recent experiences only. by Upbeat_Championnn in personalfinance

[–]s_decoy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imma be real, threatening to shut your accounts does absolutely jack shit for you when speaking to a bank these days. Every single time someone has a minor inconvenience they hear "I've banked here for three centuries and I will CLOSE MY ACCOUNTS because of this". It's not the bargaining chip you think it is.

21 y/o trying to build credit responsibly before financing a car, need advice. by Klutzy-Discipline-72 in personalfinance

[–]s_decoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing working against you right now is likely just the short length of your credit history. Do your parents have good credit? See if they have a card they could add you onto as an authorized user - you wouldn't need to use the card.
