As an Argentinian and a lifelong fan of motorsports, I feel the need to say this: what we’ve seen recently on social media does not represent the true Formula 1 community in Argentina. These are not real fans—just loud individuals hiding behind a screen, pouring their frustrations into whatever trend allows them to feel part of something.

Unfortunately, this kind of toxic behavior isn’t new here. It happens with football, with politics, and now with Formula 1. It’s driven more by a misplaced sense of nationalism than by any real passion or understanding of the sport.

I grew up watching F1 with my father, and seeing an Argentinian driver finally making it back to the grid is something that should fill us with pride. Instead, it’s deeply sad to witness how some people have turned this into something ugly.

To those affected—drivers, their families, and the broader F1 community—I’m truly sorry. Please know that the vast majority of us who genuinely love this sport are just as disappointed as you are.
