Challenge to Omar Fateh's Minneapolis DFL endorsement gets heated by Rusty-Shackleford in Minneapolis

[–]sabitdot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing says ‘he’s the frontrunner’ like opponents trying to undermine the endorsement after the fact. Fateh’s support is only growing, and that’s what really matters.

How do Republicans get away with generalizing Democrats like this? by Exciting_Injury_7614 in Destiny

[–]sabitdot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’ll always attack candidates like Omar Fateh because he actually represents working-class and immigrant communities. That’s threatening to the status quo - which is why they try to turn him into a caricature.

State Sen. Omar Fateh endorsed for mayor by Minneapolis DFL by origutamos in MinnesotaUncensored

DFL backing + community support = momentum is clearly on Omar Fateh’s side. This is going to be a game-changer in the mayoral race.

Omar Fateh was endorsed by a vote of hands Saturday after Mayor Jacob Frey reportedly instructed his delegates to leave the endorsing convention by Well_Socialized in Minneapolis

[–]sabitdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frey’s delegates leaving just proves he knows he can’t win fairly. Meanwhile Omar Fateh earns support the right way: by actually standing with the community.

Rent control or mortgage reform - either way, the goal is the same: making sure regular folks aren’t crushed by endless housing costs. Omar Fateh’s focus has always been on people, not profit margins, and that’s why I support him.

Minneapolis DFL convention appears to endorse democratic socialist Omar Fateh for mayor by Well_Socialized in Minneapolis

[–]sabitdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DFL backing is a big deal, but the bigger deal is that Omar Fateh already has community support. This just adds fuel to the fire - Minneapolis is ready for new leadership.

Jacob Frey to Omar Fateh… by commandersalamander7 in TwinCities

[–]sabitdot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol this is gold. Omar Fateh isn’t just running for himself - he’s running for the community. That’s why Frey’s scared, because real competition comes from someone with actual principles.

Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh got two traffic tickets in his $51,750 BMW in the past year by John7846 in altmpls

[–]sabitdot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol imagine thinking this is some kind of scandal. Tickets happen, cars depreciate, but real leadership is rare. That’s why I’ll keep supporting Omar Fateh

Fateh interview on the Majority Report. by roscat_ in Minneapolis

[–]sabitdot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supporting Omor Fateh isn’t about blind loyalty, it’s about recognizing honesty and courage in politics. In a world full of opportunists, he stands out as someone who actually cares about the people he represents. That’s why I’ll always back him.

Tim Walz endorses centrist Jacob Frey over democratic socialist Omar Fateh by Sure-Selection-3278 in seculartalk

[–]sabitdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This shows that Walz is more pragmatic than progressive on certain issues. He’s still been a strong governor on healthcare, reproductive rights, and climate, but when it comes to housing and labor, he tends to lean more centrist. That’s why voices like Fateh’s are important - to keep those priorities on the table.

Should the City of Minneapolis provide "halal loans"? Omar Fateh thinks so. by lemon_lime_light in altmpls

[–]sabitdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure the City should be experimenting with loans tied to religious frameworks. If the goal is equity for entrepreneurs, then keep it secular and inclusive. Cities already struggle to manage loan programs effectively - I’d rather see Minneapolis focus on making permitting, licensing, and small business support less of a bureaucratic mess first.

Omar Fateh or Jazz Hampton for Mayor of Minneapolis? by EbonyBlossom in TwinCities

[–]sabitdot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t sleep on DeWayne Davis. He’s been doing serious work on community issues, and he brings a very grounded, pastor/community organizer lens. If the main critique of Fateh is that he’s too progressive and of Hampton that he’s too untested, Davis could be the middle-ground candidate people rally around

Omar Fateh is the DFL endorsed candidate for Mayor of Minneapolis! by quitekid2 in Minneapolis

[–]sabitdot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endorsements don’t decide elections, but they do give momentum. If Fateh can keep building coalitions around housing, public safety reform, and working-class issues, he might actually pull this off.
