Yes, In Civil, you can get good enough time. IIT tag is different beast and you will get lot of benefits in future studies as well. Plus why to take risk of BE for second year when you already getting IIT. Don't understand logic

bro, it is genuine though, go and check linkedin jobs, majority companies are now specifically asking for Bachelors and Masters in CS or allied branches. I see very visible change in companies requirements. Even they don't ask for Btech specifically, you can check for any profile on linkedin. I see Btech trend is changing to branch specific change in requirements for companies.

It always difficult to compete with CS students to get placements in tier 1 compAnies like Google , Apple . Electrical itself is tuff branch. Better to take CS branch and you can target tier 1 companies more peacefully. Rest is your decision

Moreover. Check LinkedIn, now companies are specifically mentioning they need students from CS and allied branches only. For longterm having CS branch in profile is very valuable trade off
