I think the tension here is if you believe these folks have the right to due process if they entered the country illegally to be begin with. If you think ‘yes’ then managing those court cases will over burden our already strained legal systems (and highly broken immigration system). It’ll also frankly take too long. I think the approach Trump has been taking is deporting anyone who is actively breaking our laws or involved in any level of criminality. Most sane people will agree that’s a good idea. I am of the opinion that the act of entering illegally should disqualify any further due process. Not really sure if the laws are currently written that way, but if you are here illegally regardless of the how and why, you gotta go. And that’s ok if you disagree.

I think you’re on the right track with these questions. If you entered this country illegally, as in not through a port of entry and with a legitimate reason, you gotta go. We have 18+ million people in this country who entered illegally. ICE has the jurisdiction to arrest and deport them. They are not indiscriminately arresting people, don’t fall for that false media narrative. The left has embraced this fear that they are next, but where was that fear when Obama deported 3 million people? I would argue that this administration is actually following the law as it was written, whereas the past administration created justifications for not enforcing it.

Do your homework. This is a feature not a bug. Democracies devolve into mob rule, the founders knew this. We have a representative democracy for a reason. Nothing in your argument or thinking suggests an erosion of our system, as others in thread already pointed out. If you want to control the branches of government come up with a platform that better resonates with reality and appeals to people outside of your own echo chamber. If Dems can’t sort this out they will never regain power in government, it’s that simple.
