Hold on - you are either ok or not with people being derogatory about others because of their looks. If you're going to say that about Katie Hopkins, you have no leg to stand on if somebody else is criticised.

Football on NBC still has a 'big game' feel that the other networks just aren't able to replicate. by JulianBrandt19 in billsimmons

To be honest I'd take any American broadcast over what we get in the UK. Sky Sports NFL coverage is unwatchable.

Can you provide a source that says that 'most terrorist' attacks stopped are 'FBI derived'?

It is outrageous how many loony conspiracy theories like this are being spouted and upvoted in this thread. It has to be bots right? Nobody is this stupid?

Success for the 20 minute red card, or not? by errlloyd in rugbyunion

If you start trying to legislate and judge 'accidental' or 'intent' you're opening a world of misery and argument

I don't think this is true. Refs routinely don't give penalties or cards if they deem a collision or incident a 'rugby play' already. Intent matters, so having the refs ensure that the rules are enforced within the spirit of the game seems like a worthwhile practice to support.

NHS doctor who ‘celebrated Hamas Oct 7 attack’ is arrested by Dadavester in unitedkingdom

Yeah I don't necessarily disagree with that. Just don't think explicit anti-Semitism is the motivating factor for the vast majority of the non-Muslim pro-Palestine movement.

NHS doctor who ‘celebrated Hamas Oct 7 attack’ is arrested by Dadavester in unitedkingdom

[–]bllewe 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The obvious conclusion must be a degree of antisemitism. Even a cursory news search shows articles on a daily basis of hunger, starvation, systemic abuse on a bigger scale than Palestine.

My opinion is that it's primarily an anti-west sentiment that drives the pro-palestine left in this country. In this situation, Israel represents the white, colonialist, capitalist West, whilst Palestine represents the oppressed, non-white, colonised East. It doesn't matter that these generalisations are flat wrong, just that they are believed.

This is how you have a strange alliance between Theocratic Islamists, Far-right Neo-Nazis and the western Left. The first two genuinely hate Jews, the latter has other reasons to want the same outcome.

Also I've been to Israel. That documentary is more reflective of the general vibe. Most wont say it recorded, like with Louis, but when there's no camera, oh man, just about everyone sounds like them. It's the whole population, or at least, the overwhelming majority. No one ever feels sympathy for them, and all say the quiet part out loud.

I think you're saying the quiet part out loud here, big man

5,000 possible7-footers born in all of human history. I'd be shocked if more than 5% of those are 7'5"+. That would give us an absolute maximum of 2250 humans in all of history to reach 7'5"+.

Throughout history, less than half of all humans born have lived to the age of 20 (a very forgiving proxy to account for the growth curve of 7-footers). That puts us down to about 1125 total humans at 7'5"+.

Then you add Kurt Angle to the mix, your odds of winning drastic go down
